I get routine credit reports, so all is good, to date!

An additional advantage of locking down your credit is that the unsolicited credit card offers will almost completely stop. Financial institutions need to do a "soft hit" on your credit score to see if you qualify for their offer. Since your credit is locked, they cannot check your credit score. We don't get any more credit card offers since locking sown our credit.

Yes, it is nice, not tossing all those for years now. Capitol One tried for awhile 6 months ago? I just don't know how you un freeze now!! As I dropped my BAC card as they made it so I couldn't pay online, as I don't have a smart phone. Too many "places" think everyone has a smart phone now days. I never can. Have cut my ulnar nerve in RT hand, can NOT control the pressure in the ends of fingers right for a touch screen.

When you froze your credit at each bureau, you have to return to each website to unfreeze it.

A credit freeze appears to be more robust and complete than a credit lock, from the little bit I've read about it.
