Pet pics?
Reading about folks with new pups, thought it would be fun to share some pictures of our traveling buddies. I’ll go first. Hope Allen will share his fox terrier pics. Have had several. This is devilish Mollie (10 yo schnauzer/jack Russell mix)

Rebranded as Happy Dog.
Our new-to-us shelter dog. Picked up as a stray in San Antonio, TX in August of last year. Joined us in November.
Per the dog catcher and out vet, he is a Brittany Spaniel/ pit bull blend. Estimate to currently be about 1 1/2 years old.
A truly delightful creature. The bottom picture is the day he came home. Laid claim to ‘my’ chair. Now it’s whoever gets there first.
Keeps this old guy moving. We put in a good 3-4 miles each day.
Life is better with a dog. Or two.

Here are our furnimals, Franklin and Hershey before March 2019 when Franklin passed at age 15 and the new Franklin and Hershey at present. We also have 4 indoor cats, three of which are here, soaking in the morning sunshine. We did not name the 2nd dog Franklin, the rescue place named him, shades of the movie "A Dogs Purpose"- serendipity

Lefty
I would be the last person in the world to brag and boast about Lefty, the smartest, strongest, bravest dawg in the Tri-County area...but.
Old photo, younger dog than now, and guarding an old Casita. He's 11 now and showing his age.

Lion, now gone and Rowdy, my hiking buddy, we do about 7 miles a day unless we are out camping where our best so far has been 14. Lion loved to go camping and I miss him dearly. Rowdy has made friends, both people and critters from Canada to Florida and is always up for a hike or a ride. Life is indeed better with a dog 😎

Blossom, Tiger Lily, and Cairo who travel with us these days, and our dear departed Romeo. We got our first trailer 20 years ago just so we could take our cat with us on vacation - knew nothing about RV'ing, but discovered that we loved it. Over the years all our cats have joined us and really enjoy the camping, if not the traveling part.

Our Rat Terrier, Kizzy. We rescued her from a licensed breeding kennel that had to close because the owner had a terminal illness. Since she had lived in a kennel her first three years, it took awhile to turn her into a family dog. But she is the smartest, most clever dog we have ever owned, so worth the effort! That was eight years ago. She will be 11 on July 4th.

Our dog Jake
Here’s Jake,
He’s a French Brittany. Many of you folks know him as our constant camping companion. Lefty is one of his best friends.
He was all set up for prom this year, had a nice Springer bi..h for a date but the obedience school cancelled prom due to the covid 19 PANDEMIC. Now i fear he’s running with the wrong crowd and has become a bad hombre . Speed to burn, power like a WD Allis Chalmers
And good looks like a 66 Oliver with straight tin. He looks just like his dad, a Spanish Field Trial grand champion. Not much comes on the property that Jake doesn’t tell us about.

I remember he was a little standoffish at the escape rally.

Pappy Cool and Tanner
Pappy Cool, our 2 year old, 120lb Newdle (Newfoundland Poodle), super excited to go camping with us, loves everyone, plays well with all dogs, big and little. Jeff's his toy, I am not - and he knows that, too.
Tanner, our grumpy girl, but my total love. She's an Aussie/Catahoula mix - 13 years old, not sure how much longer she'll be with us. Used to be able to run circles around most any dog (except my sister's Brittany). Not a fan of other dogs (tolerates her brother, most of the time), not really a fan of other people. Not a fan of being away from home, but anywhere Momma is, is better than being without Momma. Both of her breeds are herding dogs, and she struggles with not having a controlled world. We got her a little pop-up tent (like the Clam, but made for little kids) for camping, so she'll have a safe place to hang out.
One reason we got the 21NE instead of the 19 is the extra 4" width. 2 good sized dogs take up a lot of floor space.

Jake & Tucker
Standard Poodles, great companions, hikers and campers.
First photo is Tucker (left) and Jake (right) at the bottom of the Rio Grande Gorge on a trip last fall. Second is hiking a wash in Valley of the Gods on the same trip.
(Iowa Dave, Jake says he doesn't mind you using his name. You can have Iowa rights.)

."it is amazing how much she has changed our life in just the 10 weeks since she came home."
Happy Dog has done the same for us. Gopher the Aussie Girl in her last year struggled to walk to the mail box and back. Between her heart disease and arthritis things were tough on her.
Happy, the pup, is boundless energy. Reveille is 5am with a dog nose on my face. Then coffee and the 6am morning walk. Then the long walk of the day while my wife is enjoying a peaceful breakfast then the after-lunch walk and the evening walk. There's no skipping a walk either or he just sits and stares at me and bats me with his paws. Keeps this old man moving.
The three of us just finished out bowl of watermelon. Happy wolfs his down then bums from us. Mostly we eat veggies and fruits. Happy enjoys apples, pears, blueberries, cantaloupe, carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans, on and on.
Like your Hope, Happy is a joy to have around.
He has never been camping so we will have to see how that plays out. Every time I go to the trailer I take him with me and let him inside. So far, he just hops in.
Hopefully he will be as good of a camper as Gopher was. Time will tell. So far all of our planned trips have been cancelled. Hopefully by September.
Enjoy your new Hope.
Ed
