Both are great options. When an older teen we used to put Thousand Island Dressing on our fries, gotta try that again. [emoji16] Mayonnaise is used throughout the world

I think that fries can be enjoyable if dipped in all sorts of sauces, not just ketchup, and even gravy. That's dipped - I don't want someone in the kitchen to douse my fries with anything them leave them to soak... and that's poutine. But hey... eat what you like!

Whatever you do, never try hand cut russet fries, first baked with a little sea salt sprinkled on them, and then fried in duck fat. Never try that. Thank me later.

Love to have the occasional malt vinegar on my fries and can throw off a server by asking for mayo for mine.

With BBQ sauce - the only way to eat fries for me. And we have some great choices here in Kansas City!

My thoughts, exactly, Ron.

Speaking of fries, the classic best in my mind are from In-N-Out-- Animal fries.

Edit: note to self: this thread will end at about page 7, when squirrels are mentioned!

This is how a plate of fries smothered in gravy and topped with cheese curds can be "Pull it a cull"!!! Alf

Alternatives

I’ve tried poutine. It was ok. Not sure it was good poutine or just average.
It’s that time of year in our area for churches, Legions, fraternal organizations etc to have fund raising dinners or breakfast events. We used to attend a lot of these but Covid changed that and also restaurant meals. We might get back into it but I’m not real confident. Although the ads in the weekly “shoppers’ are tempting.
