Saw a slightly depressing movie that had an RV in it

The "Leisure Seekers"
It has Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren and a 1975 Winnabago Indian traveling on one last trip to Key West. The kids are upset as dad with Alzheimers often does not even know who his wife is and what is wrong with her will be shown towards the end. But she also is in no condition to just jump in a clunky old RV and head south.

Looks like a good film, although I can already tell from the preview that it's going to make me very sad.

Sounds like an interesting movie. No "happy talk" with this, but we are all heading to some variation of the plot, unless we get lucky. I am dealing with my 100 year old mother, and a too long life is not all that joyous. Most of the folks on this forum, and other trailer forums are in the senior category. Time to think about things like this. "Still Alice", another movie in a similar vein is worth watching, and learning from.

I couldn't agree more! We ordered our trailer 7 years ahead of schedule because of an unexpected health issue. Retirement was just too far away to risk waiting to do a lot more exploring in our new home away from home. Enjoy life while you can!

Another movie with an RV-retirement theme: "About Schmidt" starring Jack Nicholson. Though I have to say I didn't watch it all the way through; the wedding scene was too cringy for me.

When I retired early from my job a few years ago I told myself that I was going to do the best I could to enjoy the rest of my life. So far, so good. Traveling in the Escape has certainly helped me do this.

But it is Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren . That should be enough to watch two great actors ? Pat

The experts did not like it but 56% of the regular viewers did.
It was uneven and had its overly predictable spots but we enjoyed watching it. I imagine a Millennial or Gen Z would find it boring.
