Yeah, I was just used to the little black bar. Things change.

Done worry Robert. After a week or two or three you will get to love Android. [emoji12]

After 5 years on IOS it took me a few weeks but it's good to be back.

I've always preferred Android. Even did rooting and custom ROMs. Just getting back into the swing. [emoji1]

You might consider using the mobile view - no app needed. It should auto detect on your device but if not, scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the style chooser in the lower left corner. Select mobile. It's pretty nice and loads quickly on mobile

Must be what mine is doing, doesn't have the side windows like on the laptops display.

What page am I on to select Mobile View?
I guess I'm not using Tapatalk. Am I on the site on my browser ( Safari on the phone )?

All the way at the bottom left of the web page there's a box, it has 2 options, one being mobile.

Found that.
But, site doesn't recognize me, in that it doesn't mark posts I've already read on my laptop as read.
Think I'm done.

You do need to log in. In the few times I've used a browser to view the forum on my phone, I've found I need to switch to Full View to get a login dialog, then use Mobile View to more efficiently read the forum.

OK, I think I'm getting the hang of this on android. Still prefer the app behavior on iOS, but not the pitiful battery life of the old phone.

I've had Android since they came out and I started having small issues with the S-5 and once rebooted it works Great again .

I see I have tapatalk on my apple phone it looks like you read stories that interest you on it ? what else can it do .Also can i-6 phone's contact list put the list into groups like a android phone?

I did a bunch of playing around with both last night, both the Mobile App and Tapatalk.

As far as browsing and reading they are both similar. Locating unread posts in both is just as easy.

The Mobile App is more like the full web site, just a bit more simplified. It is the best looking of the two.

Maybe because I am fairly used Tapatalk I found a few things easier. I like that I get phone notifications (and not email ones, that is shut off), which gives me instant access to the new posts in the thread. Posting and editing wise, I can do multi-quotes easy, and could not figure out how to do that on the Mobile App.

Basically, both work fine for the most part, and keep a fella connected on the go.

Here are screen shots of the same post in the two apps. I prefer the simplicity of Tapatalk for most functions, as it seems more dumbed down, yet functional. I don't seem to be searching around for functions as much on Tapatalk. Again, this may be due to the fact I am more used to it too.

I also like that I can view a bunch of new posts on different forums from Tapatalk as well.

The notifications for every post are what drove me to get rid of the app after about a day.

I set it up for notifications on threads I subscribed too only. You can turn them off if you want. They just show up with the myriad of other notifications I get, and you can just swipe them away if you don't want to go to the thread.

You can see the notification on my screen shots. I don't find it intrusive at all.
