Things that go clank in the dark

Okay, I know I am opening a can of worm here (yet I persist).

While we are waiting for our 5.0TA to be completed, she said "honey, why don't you look up Bigfoot encounters in the Chilliwack area". So I said okay, I'll check the BFRO database for BC and OMG!

Now I have never seen these things, so I can't say, but while checking out the maps in the area, I could not help but notice there is a nice provincial park right outside of town. Oh my gosh, that might be nice to visit the park and have lunch.

"Honey what's the name of this park?" "Sasquatch Provincial Park.....Dear."

Oh boy!

Does anyone have any stories that they are brave enough to share. I promise to be nice.

You don't name a park that size after something that is mythical.

Do you?

Tim

It's marketing.
Local ski hill that lived on the edge of bankruptcy for years was call Hemlock Valley. They changed the name to Sasquatch and seem to be thriving.

Kinda depends. One of my son’s best friends was in Scouts at the same time as my son. He later played some college basketball as he was tall. In the summer he wore sandals a lot.
Size 16. Now that’s a Big foot.

Go up to the Okanogan, he might be sitting by the lake looking for the Ogopogo.

Hi: cpaharley2008... At the moment I'm not into socks as I'm dealing with swell feet!!! One thing I know for sure is it's hard to stand out in a crowd, and put both of them in your mouth at the same time!!! Alf

So one thing I am curious about is; why did they name the park Sasquatch Provincial Park.

Doesn't that have to be considered at the federal level. Was it just a local business that prompted that name?

There are federal national parks and there are provincial parks. Like fed and state.
No clue who named Sasquatch Provincial.

Here's what Wiki has to say:
History

The park was established 1968, in its present condition. It actually began in 1959 as a 20 hectare inland fjord called Green Point Park, which was expanded into a picnicking area in 1960. Eight years later the park was expanded greatly and renamed. It was named after Sasquatch (a Halkomelem Salish word), the cryptid said to be endemic to the area.[1]

Thumbs down Night noises??

LOL I was just reminiscing with my wife about some odd things we have had happen on several trips last year..twice we have been serenaded by doofusses who seem to have to go to their tow vehicles about 20 times a night, for stuff they 4got..and every freaking time they lock their truck doors with their stupid KEY FOBS..which every time blasts their truck HORN. Grrr but do not most folks KNOW that you can lock yer truck or car doors with that freakighng little button on the door, then step out QUIETLY in a campground. Grrr...honk.......honk......10 minutes later...honk grrr
