Totaled truck
We were gone for a month on vacation, when we came back my wife and her sister were running errands. A pickup pulled out from a road to the right at the intersection. According to a witness, the woman looked to the right but not to the left and gunned it to get ahead of the witnesses' vehicle approaching to her right. My wife never hit the brakes and was likely doing 35 to 40. The result was our totaled vehicle with less than 10K miles and wife and her sister injured, though not seriously. Seriously enough however, my wife with very sore chest, her sister with bad headache, her own fault as she did not have her seatbelt on correctly. (she broke the windshield). Three airbags deployed. This is our second major accident in 6 years, the first being coming into our path in the wrong lane. Some of the worst drivers I have seen in my 6 decades of driving. And just that morning a driver in the wrong lane nearly sideswiped me. And previously on our way to our vacation spot on the interstate I was run over on the shoulder by a highway tractor towing another tractor. He passed me and apparently forgot he was towing and pulled over into my lane like I was not there. I jerked our rig onto the shoulder but do not know how we missed contact. In following that rig I could see how poorly he was staying in his lane. Enough of a rant.
Thanks for letting me vent.
