Upcoming Solar Eclipse
Here's a handy site with an interactive map and lots of information about the upcoming total solar eclipse that will run from Oregon to South Carolina in a couple months.
This hasn't happened in the US in a hundred years. If you're anywhere near the path, and the skies are clear, it should be amazing. For the corona to appear however, you need to be in the total eclipse zone.

That's a good map, thanks. I've got my spot picked out, and I have a backup spot picked out. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the map. I haven't paid a lot of attention and was a little surprised to see that it was going to be reasonably close to us. I know some of the country down in NW Missouri having worked in Maryville at one time. With that in mind I might decide to drive down to experience it. I met an old boy years ago who was looking forward to seeing Haleys comet that summer for the second time. He was 10 on the first pass. We should all be so lucky.
Thanks
Dave

I would definitely go for it Dave if I was anywhere near the path. Once in a lifetime thing.

I also thank you for the link to the map - I'm picking up my trailer in Chilliwack on August 17th and was worried about finding campgrounds. Looks like I'm far enough away that it won't be a problem.

Just hang on for a few years, Robert-- another solar eclipse will go right through Texas in 2024.

Dirk and I are really looking forward to the eclipse. He's talking about it more than I am! We've had a site booked at the SolarFest in Madras OR for quite some time.

We're going to drive 60 miles to the Northeast of here to get in the center of the path. The rest is up to the weather. Loren

Me too! Maybe someone else here can use the reservation I have at La Pine (south of Bend Oregon.)

In this part of Texas, the odds are high that it will be cloudy.
