Thanks Carl........

Age

Nancy said don't, but I accept the truth. We picked up our 4th new Escape in April,
a 5th wheel and a new RAM truck. The 5th wheel is almost a new experience for me and I'm learning. AT 78 and 77 we have been around the block a few times but it is more difficult then it was with a bumper pull.
AZjack PS Nancy said I didn't have to subtract 10 years.

I was 22 when we got ours, but that was back in 2016. I have aged since then.

We picked up our 2019 E21 when I was 74 and my wife was 72. Sorry to mess up your average age calculation! We have been RVing for many years and getting a smaller FG trailer to continue our RV travels has proven to be a very good idea.

We love it! Haven’t been out on a trip yet, since the last month has been hectic with the he arrival of our new kiddo. We got the cot, and our oldest can’t wait to sleep in it. There is plenty of room for us. Quality is better than expected, and we’re glad we got the contemporary interior.

Hey Alf, who is "axjack?" Is that Jack wielding an axe?

Still seems like the other day when we made the inaugural trip!

I was 48, my wife was 39 and our little sidekick had not started kindergarten.

Many good trips and memories since.

first trailer, not Escape

We were 19 and 21 and it was built like they used to build them.

Hi Jack
Ahhh the good old days. As Merle said “when a buck was still silver and a joint was a bad place to be.”
As you may have detected, my mind flips around at a pretty good pace. Camped with the 21 on Thursday afternoon when a fellow about our age came rolling through the park on a Harley Davidson Trike. He had a very good sound system and wanted everyone to know it so as he made the loops in the campground with a 1960’s tune blasting and then faded into the sunset ( headed west) I looked at Rita and sang a few bars of “I wish I was 18 again” then the next morning this poll on Escape owners and buyers came up. I was reading it and whistling my 1936 rendition of “When your smiling” by Billie Holiday with Lester Young on Tenor and my 4 year old grandson asked how old I was when that song was made. I said it was about 10 years before I was born. And he said “Do you ever wish you were a kid again.? And my mind flipped to the day before and I said “listen to this, I like the Ray Price version better than George Burns” and googled “Ray Price you tube I wish I was 18 again” and we listened to it. Back home in the afternoon I was surprised how many folks had offered up their ages and experiences so I thought I’d hit copy and then access the forum and hit paste. And that’s about it. When I was 18 the Pontiac GTO was the car to have around here.
Alas, we had a 1955 Pontiac but it was still pretty quick “out of the hole”.
Hope you’re having a great summer and glad to hear you’re happy with the TA. Say hello to Nancy for us.
Gotta sort some nuts and bolts I’ll never use in the garage on this rainy day. The 21’ worked perfect this week. It was 78 degrees and she stayed at -2 and 34 on propane in mottled shade with a light breeze.
Iowa Dave and Rita.

As I sit in my lawn chair, watching my 60+ neighbour up on his roof fighting moss, I think, "you damn fool".
The 30-something neighbour on the other side finishes mowing his lawn and then goes for his run. His bride-to-be waters the lawn, and I'm green with envy.
Gonna have to make the best of it. What's left.

I don't want to be 18 again, but late 20s would be good.

I guess you’re Right on that Glenn. I had a big cottonwood tree in the back yard. It was double crotched at the base and pretty good sized each lead about 30 inches . I pondered for a few years how I could cut it down.
First with no damage to my nice Spruce trees, then later whether or not I could do it without it killing me. The derecho broke up four trees and laid down 2 more on our back lot line. I needed to get them out for the installation of the solar array. I called a local tree service guy. He laid down the 4 broken up trees and the Cottonwood for $600. Best deal I ever made in my life. I worked them from the ground with my saws and tractor and only bruised one fingernail when I pinched it throwing bolts into the tractor bucket. I’ve had a lot of good days, good weeks, months and years. And I’m not done yet. I do miss a lot of folks who have gone to the final reward as they say. Our local funeral home charges extra for pockets on a casket and the hearse driver gets an extra $25 for stopping at the bank to make a withdrawal.
Have a great weekend.
Iowa Dave
