I’ve camped at Roaring River SP, below the dam at Bulk Shoals and most
recently at a COE campground at Table Rick. Had an
employee years ago who went down that way several times a season. We will be working on that and other reservations shortly . Hope your trip is going well.

We leave in a few days. Then I’ll have time to relax and read your Iowa post.

Ok good, I’m thinking it through. My wife Rita is helping, so there’s hope. She says there’s a huge quilt shop and some others at Kalona, Iowa.

Glad Barb doesn’t read this because quilt shops mean less I can spend on the boat!

Come to Minnesota... gonna be below zero F all next week with highs barely above zero. And we have already surpassed our average snowfall for an entire winter and it's only January.

I knew as soon as I purchased a new snow shovel that winter was not going to happen, and there the shovel sits, in the corner, unused!! You can thank me later at Osoyoos if you are experiencing a mild winter, I know we are here in Pennsylvania!
Hmm, wonder if I should look at a new lawn mower

If the lawn mower thing works without a drought, let me know.

bring that shovel to VT! 10 in of fluffy snow Monday and 2 in wet concrete last night! Maybe more coming on the weekend. I do notice we do not have the extended cold spells we used to have in January and we are more often on the warmer side of the storms than we used to be....grumble grumble from this skier!

I watch the videos of a few youtubers who do offroad rescue in southern Utah, and man, they are being SLAMMED with snow in the mountains around them. So is another guy who does the same thing in central Oregon, out of Bend, the Cascades are slammed with ice and snow.

Coming up your way soon to ski Okemo. They are reporting 25" in the last 7 days with 10" in the last 48 hours. The extended forecast looks good. Hoping it holds true.

Have fun! They may have gotten a bit more in the last storm...we were on the edge of the snow/rain line and got a lot of rain. We live by Mount Snow.

While there is still only an inch or so of snow on the ground, I woke up to -8°F this morning. Coldest it has been in years here in Oswego...

Yeah coldest here in a long time too. We had -22 last night and probably a foot or so on the ground. 30 years ago we would have 2 weeks in January where it would barely get above 0...not so much anymore. I remember when I went to college in your neck of the woods, Paul Smiths, and I saw -35 there.....brrrr... a friend had -30 in Rainbow Lake last night.

It was -10.5 this morning when I got up. Coldest I can remember here (and we've been in this house for 40 years). This after a mild January.

It was -24 today in Massena, NY, where my wife grew up.

And my grandmother was born.

Heading to Antarctica this week but it's summer there and warmer than here.

We left Minnesota on January 11th. We did have one night of snow at our campground at Battle Mountain, Nevada. We were snow free in Death Valley with highs in the lower 70's last week, and currently there is no snow in the forcast here in Tucson (Gilbert Ray) with tomorrow's high expected to be 78.

I've talked to our friends in Minnesota and they're cold as hell, but waiting for April to get the average highs in the mid to upper 40's.

Enjoy,

Perry
