The daffodils are late this year, but the tulips are up four inches, go figure.

It got up to 38 this afternoon in Eastern Iowa. Had full sun all day and generated 58 kWh with the solar. Snow is going away. Cardinals are pairing up. Seeds have been received, Making a few reservations as dates open. Won’t be long now.

Not this year Jim. I have some family commitments at that same time. Hope you and Noelia have a great time. Don’t push your timeline too hard.

No side trips is correct as we will not be having Noelia's sister along to help with driving, she lives there.....!

Hi: TTMartin... Thanks for the weather note. We seem to be situated in a rather snow proof corridor as the approach of systems from the S. west split at the W. end of Lake Erie and go north of us and south of the lake. Our nightmare is a strong south wind across the open waters of Lake Erie. A real dumper!!!

WOW!! We haven't had any snow this year; had a green Xmas here in Ontario and this morning I woke up to a foot of heavy snow with drift is the backyard up to 3 feet deep! Took my wife and I 2 hours to clean it all up and that's with a large 13hp snow blower - to add insult to injury,. we're forecast to get another 6" this weekend- bring it on, we leave for the southern states on the 29th so we'll be out of here!!!!

Winter returns

Wisconsin Winter returns, a bit late, but now with a vengeance. December we had a couple of dinky 2"-3" snows, record warmth, and now the real deal. 6" of snow Tuesday, 3" or so last night, a storm starting tonight with 8"-12" predicted and 40 MPH winds. Then a good, long spell of sub-zero temps.
Snowmageddon!
Time to stock up with necessary vittles before the storm hits.

I don't mind Forty Creek but do have bottles of whiskey much better. And they do freeze. On one backcountry ski trip I did many years ago it was below -40° at night. I had brought a container of rum to add to hot drinks and fortunately I put it in a wide mouthed Nalgene container because it had turned to a very hard slush. Shoulda brought the higher ABV stuff,
