Hertel is a small unincorporated town consisting of 2 bars and a small Native American Casino
It’s a suburb of Danbury Wi where the main casino is located ( Hole in the Wall Casino and fireworks store)
It’s about 40 miles south of Superior Wisconsin

Since the town is unincorporated it does not show up on many maps or on GPS’s

Hi: All... From where I view it, my winter is progressing quite nicely. Green is a Christmas colour. In a couple of weeks it should get a shade greener and a lot warmer...I hope!!! Alf

A friend who lives in Tucson,AZ told us yesterday they got 2 inches of snow. Tucson?? Really? That's like saying British Columbia is on the Equator.

Tell Gertie it finally stopped snowing here late yesterday --but with 2 feet-plus out there and 13 degrees F right now even with that (hey, oh, very cute) jacket she's wearing she'd be jumping into your heated F-150 quicker than you could say Baja. Yesterday so much snow I couldn't open the bloody gate at the driveway.

Yea, it is running as we speak (well, type). I'm getting tired of wearing a sweatshirt in the trailer! I'm going through a tank of propane a week, and that is with the thermostat set at 60°F.

Still, it is 20°F for a high at home.

Winter has NM in its grips. We spent nearly all New Years day shoveling snow and 3' drifts out of our driveway. I'd estimate we received 18" of snow from the last storm. Wish we could sit by the fire but had to get out to make a service appointment for our truck this morning. Off to Sumas next week to pick up our E21. State highways here have been plowed and are good but the side roads and county roads have not been and would be impassible to a non 4WD vehicle. Temp was 7 degrees here this morning. This is really unusual weather for our area of New Mexico.

Where the heck to you find green down south. All the rocks, sand and cactus are more of a brown/grey shade with just a tinge of green thrown in. Nonetheless we too will be looking for some as we head out in just over a week.

Here in Georgia it is warm and wet, hoping 2019 has a little less rain since this was one of the wettest years on record. I know we will be happy when the dogs can go in the back yard again with out bringing back muddy foot prints :banghead.
Lots of great places to camp in Georgia, may I also suggest Cloudland Canyon State Park and also Carters Lake that can be reserved through the Corps of Eng. both of these places are at some of the higher elevations in GA so might be a little cold those months. If you want a little warmer climate lots of nice campgrounds out I-20 east toward Augusta. Also in the SW park of the state Florense Marina State Park is a nice place to camp, from there you can go tour what is called the Little Grand Canyon at Providence State Park. If you venture down in the canyon I would suggest a change of clothes and shoes, some cool trails there but be careful because the ground can get awful soft before you know it. Of course any Escape owner would always be welcome to stay a night or two in the driveway of our place on Lake Sinclair in Eatonton, no hookups but peaceful place to spend a night or two.

Happy and safe travels to all.

Steve and Patty.

We heard a similar report from friends of ours in Tucson.
Meanwhile: Another friend, in Mesa (110+ miles NNW of Tucson), told us it's cold and dry in Mesa, but looking out her east window, the Superstition mts. are all white.

In Georgia February is known as Febu-ugly.
33 degrees and pouring down rain isn't any fun.

Green Valley is 30 miles South of Tucson. Check Bog Springs CG located in Madera Canyon.

Ummm........6 deg last week in Blacksburg and didn't get above freezing for almost a week.
As someone who has worked with weather forecasts and Almanacs, etc.....I don't put much stock n a 90 day forecast. In fact, I have never heard of one. I take a 10 day forecast with a grain of salt.
