i run a nursing home all our other nursing homes in our area have had out breaks we have not. We wear masks - and shields when taking care of patients most wear N 95 masks and we test most staff weekly. Very tough but it has worked!

So, where do you think you'll park the 3rd and 4th Escapes?

My brother just emailed a photo of the 200+ lb mule deer he took in Idaho the other day. He had plenty of fun dragging the buck 200 yards to a spot where he could load it up. He got just about 100 lbs of venison out of it. Not bad for a guy in his late 70s, recovered from Covid last spring (he lost 14 lbs in 10 days).

Back when I was a kid, the deer hunters wore red. I think orange was just getting started. I recall my dad's old, red hunting coat with the holes on the back where the license had to hang.

Dad used to stress the importance of proper-colored dress during white-tailed deer season in MI, even if not hunting. No white!! He'd tell the story of the guy who went deer hunting in the usual red, but with white gloves. Someone nearby started shooting and the guy yelled and held up a hand... and got shot in the hand. So then he threw up his other hand... and (the story goes) he got shot in the other hand, too! I have no idea if this really happened, but Dad seemed to think it was a true story.

I guess, with Covid as well as deer season, the very best thing a person can do is make sure he's clothed with God's grace and ready to go at any time.

Nope- and they just got closed again for at least four weeks. Plus big restrictions on family visits and others in the home. But it doesn't help a lot if people don't do it.

And people on both sides of the border are growing weary of the restrictions.

IMO there's nothing to be ashamed about in admitting that most of us are "growing weary" of the restrictions.

BUT, responding to the weariness by foregoing / not making the sacrifices most likely to bring the situation to a more rapid and overall lower-impact conclusion .... well, that is a shameful choice, IMO (no matter who is making that choice).

Humankind has never lacked for short-sighted (aka myopic) elements, but neither has it lacked for elements with tenacity, perseverance, and the far-sightedness required to more quickly triumph over adversity with less overall pain and suffering.

We can only hope that the latter prevail, and by our own individual example and effort encourage and aid others in maintaining the strength necessary to achieve that end.

Try to stay safe, everyone

I’m pretty lucky to live in the country, I can walk as far as I want and not encounter anything but squirrels and deer, plenty of food and drink, warm house and good winter clothes a dog and a loving wife who makes great meals. So I’m in for the long haul, however long it is. I’m more disgusted with lack of recognition of the seriousness of the situation than the weariness of the ongoing restrictions. Hang in there, there are a lot of tests as you go through life.

From the movie Cool Hand Luke
“A man has got to know his limitations.”
Although if I would get rid of the big Jon Boat that’s hiding behind the trailers in the avatar, I could jack one more in there crossways. The building is 32 feet deep. As most know, we only had two for a little while in 2017. The New Holland TC40D Tractor sets next to the 21 right now. I am working on the other garage where it usually lives. That building had some derecho damage.
The Escape Garage escaped unscathed. As my son would say, “It’s all good”.

Hmmm I must be slipping. And fell down. I thought I ought to have a Model 29 at the time but went with a 19 instead.
Then later a romance with Blackhawks.
I was thinking of the quote by the Captain in Cool Hand Luke
“What we have here is a failure to communicate”.
