We had a Canadian fishing trip booked for late May / early June which was canceled due to Covid
We tried to rebook our trip but were told by the resort owner that he doubts the border will open much before Labor Day
With the surge of Covid cases in the US , I figure this year will be a lost cause
If I was Canada , I would keep the border closed too !!

Leaves me in the lurch as to where to go to avoid 4th of July fireworks. But I can do my sister's house in Ronald as long as we stay socially-distanced and it isn't too hot to do that.
My other sister (one of them) headed to Alaska today (her home)- wonder if they've been allowed through yet!

I didn't realize how much I really love the States. We've been to Vegas 13 times and this year was a let down. The shopping, I don't mind paying exchange on something that's 70% off. We really want to head back to the Southwest, and Key West

You know what. This is so refreshing to hear. Thank you. One thing I have felt for sure is how nice the Canadian perspective is. We are so lucky to have each other.
I can't wait to see you guys down here again and I am going around Lake Superior the first chance I get. When you get ready to visit the South West again, let's talk. I'll share some secrets!
God bless everybody. No matter what!

Agree.Missing those trips across the border.Of course no desert trip next year.No cross border trips to meet our friends we known for fifty years.Forget about ordering stuff to be picked up at the mail box in Blaine. Some of our best friends are Americans.
Take care we will get trough this.
Allan.

We enjoyed the offers being made the last two weeks on Twitter to get your very own "Emotional Support Canadian" if you are a US resident. I'm sure many people took advantage of those kind offers.
We personally, are less stressed knowing our good neighbors to the North are there and look forward to being able to go back and forth again.

It is nice to have sensible neighbors, isn't it?
Thanks, Canadians.

No, don't say that, I still have hope.
Little did we know coming back from Q'site and Baja in Feb. that it might be our last time for the foreseeable future.
Yup, might be a separate country but having this restriction at the border still feels strange.

And cross-border cultural exchanges will continue.
The Canadian pop star The Weeknd will perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show, the N.F.L. said.

I just don’t see why Canadians and US citizens can’t cross the border with a coved negative test? Why are our governments prohibiting crossing if we test negative. I can’t drive my truck from Alaska to the rest of the states to get to my trailer. If it is this way next spring I am going to have to barge my truck south.

Look at the transmission rates for both countries. We have to solve this first. Everybody please be safe.
I want to go too!

I don't believe that is true, since several Americans have been caught and fined for sight-seeing in Banff when they were supposed to be driving directly to Alaska. I'm sure you can transit Canada.
Suggest you look up Canada Border Agency.

My nephew was allowed to drive his truck and boat down from Alaska since he had moved to Washington in January. And his parents were allowed to drive back up to Alaska in June because they were here when the pandemic started. But his uncle was not allowed to go up to BC to retrieve the boat he left in storage at his summer cabin there. All the same entry point.
Both sets of through travelers had phone calls to follow up on where they were in transit and after arrival.
