I think the context of Jim's original reply was possibilities for traveling home should a buyer decide to pickup in Sumas.

Exactly, there is no difference between picking up from the factory in Sumas and delivering the trailer yourself vs trucks carrying new auto's from the auto factories....

This just in from Canadian Press: Trudeau said in his morning news conference that he spoke with Trump earlier in the day, and likened the measure to the instructions from public-health officials that people avoid visiting their neighbours unless doing so is essential.
``Travellers will no longer be permitted to cross the border for recreation and tourism,'' Trudeau said.
Hopefully, this won't affect the planned Osoyoos Rally but stand by.......

Is not a trailer part of the 75% number? Goods will continue across....people, that is another story. Hopefully the driver can return...?

The Osoyoos Rally is scarcely 75 days away. I wonder if confidence will come back by then.
I sure do hope so!

It affects our local economy in NW Montana as we appreciate Canadians supporting us by shopping here. That goes away until we get through this.
I remain hopeful the sky is not falling.

That would be a Big Sky to fall in Montana.

Terms of border crossing
“We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Trade will not be affected. Details to follow!”
https://www.nationalreview.com/news/...ential-travel/
They said the terms will be announced by Thursday.

Terms of border crossing
Travel across border:
“We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Trade will not be affected. Details to follow!”
The terms of who will be allowed to cross is being negotiated. The White House said they’d report the terms hopefully by Thursday.

Given today's statements, it would be reasonable to expect that trailer shipments to the U.S. will continue, and even a U.S. buyer's trip into Canada for orientation and to finalize the purchase would be permitted (as travel for trade); however, further vacation travel in Canada should not be acceptable to border agents. And everything can change at any time.

Canadians are under the same restrictions about traveling down here, and that could impact a driver delivering a trailer across the border to Sumas....unless ETI can broker this as "trade", which it actually is, and which supposedly is not being restrained. Those with trailers on order might want to check in with ETI.

Just an update for those with appointments for delivery. Yesterday we confirmed our delivery for Monday in Sumas for 10am, no orientation as per border restrictions. Hopefully we will have everything we need for the long drive home to Texas. We are hoping federal Rv parks remain open since many state parks are closed. Good luck to everyone camping and possibly picking up their Escape over the next few weeks.

As of right now all Washington State CG’s are open. Non-camping accommodations, however, are closed. We’re currently camped at Ft. Casey. Cute. And just a short ferry from here to downtown Port Townsend.
Hopefully the State Parks stay open. It’s packed here. Seems a lot of people are taking advantage of the early/extended spring break to get out of Dodge.

Am surprised that WA- with one of the largest outbreaks and fatalities has not shut down in the way others have.

Oh, things here are shut down too: schools, bars, restaurants (except take out), and “public gathering places and venues”, as well as no groups over ten persons.
Camping seems fairly low risk, as long as you don’t get too close to your neighbors.

I get that, yet if NM closed State Parks as well as OR & CA- why is WA with their stats not doing same?

Canadian border closing

Because it’s a fairly low risk activity? All visitor centers, interpretive centers, ranger stations, yurts, cabins, glamping, etc is closed. Only straight up, regular, plain Jane, park your own rig CG sites are open. No need to get within 20 feet of anyone else. Or be reactionary and close something just because everyone else is.

So I don't disagree with you; we just returned early from a trip to the desert- it's just am wondering why WA isn't responding similarly to other states nearby, especially given the numbers.
