Like your hat, Myron - makes me sigh more deeply for our canceled trip to Glacier this summer, and thinking of the bear claws from the Polebridge Mercantile that we will miss...

I’ve worked jobs where I wore masks (N95), and canister type ( for spraying) hearing protection, plugs or muffs, hard hats, goggles, face shields, gloves and steel toed shoes. So a little mask is no big deal with me but they are hot right now.

Talking about the Mercantile just rubs it in, although my favorites are the sticky buns! I haven't had one since 2015.

Jim you have to start running northern Montana and northern Idaho on your way to Osoyoos. Get off of I 90 at Three Forks, stop at Montana Wheat. Go north towards Helene. Stop at the National Bison range for lunch then onto the Helena area to camp.
Next day over to Glacier. Stop and see the show by my friend Jack Gladstone if he’s playing.
Then
Head towards Lake Pend Oreille and onto Osoyoos. You’ll never go another way and you will gain 10 lbs.. You are Welcome.

And they have just about the greatest pastries around. A long drive on bad roads (although they seem to be getting better, at least within the park). About 25 miles from Apgar campground, and even longer from the East side of the park (but a great excuse for driving the Going to the Sun Road).

Dave, I did not think that Glacier was open until June, sounds like a nice detour though.

Hi Jim
We stopped and camped at Apgar two Nights after we left Osoyoos a couple years ago. It was very late May or the first couple days in June. Of course the “going to the sun” road was not open yet then. We vacationed in Glacier several times and drove a lot of the roads. We rented a couple cabins and in 2003 rented a house that overlooked Whitefish Lake. The house later sold the next year for 4.5 million. Only time I ever saw a cougar stalk a deer while I relaxed in a hot tub. I usually don’t gain 10 lbs at any one rally but I do admit to struggling after breakfast at Bettys. Alf’s fault.
