The meat packing plant issue is big. Lots of jobs not happening, and along with beef already forecast to increase in price, this will only make it worse and will drastically lower availability. Lots of immigrants work at them and live with many people per household which will cause things to spread faster. A province know worldwide for its good Alberta Beef will now be buying from the US.

Fishmas postponed

Fishmas has been postponed in parts of California.
Fishing season opens this Saturday, but not where our favorite spots are.
Here's the announcement:

Delays Trout Season Openers
As much as it pains us, CDFW has delayed the start of the trout opener in Alpine, Inyo and Mono counties and on the Downie River in Sierra County as requested by county officials due to the public health concerns of COVID-19 and limited heath care facilities in these counties. In addition, CDFW has temporarily postponed fishing on the North Fork Yuba River in Sierra County.

The trout season was scheduled to open in these counties tomorrow, Saturday, April 25. The delay to the opener extends through May 31, 2020.

Specifically, this means all waters in Alpine, Inyo and Mono counties not currently open to fishing will remain closed to fishing through May 31. CDFW is also making minor adjustments to bag and possession limits in waters that are currently open for fishing to protect and conserve the existing fisheries that may be affected by increased angling pressure or harvest. Additionally, fishing is now temporarily suspended on the North Fork Yuba River from Yuba Pass downstream to the confluence with Goodyears Creek and the trout opener on the mainstem of the Downie River is delayed, both through May 31, 2020.

These decisions do not affect the trout season in any other county.

Fiesta in San Antonio is a 10-day celebration that should be happening right now, but was rescheduled for November. We shall see.

We left Hawai'i yesterday, and are enjoying our first full day in Maui. Gotta love this Hawaiian fun.

I really shoulda deleted this stuff outta my calendar, but kinda need a bit of relaxation, even if it is just fantasy. [emoji16]

This afternoon we are having a short gathering of 6 people. Cocktails will be drank outside at a safe distance. Couples are bringing their own drinks. Then we all depart for supper at home.

Hugs and kisses will be on raincheck only.

Have a great holiday Jim. Speaking of fantasy. We were at a Red Sox vs Blue Jays baseball game in Boston on Tuesday night. I don't remember much about it, so I must have had a great time! I am still feeling a little jet lagged after the flight home Wednesday, but I should be great to go soon.

Your memory is taxed because you probably started drinking before the game. That's a great idea. [emoji16]

Speaking of drinking, off to enjoy some now! [emoji481][emoji485][emoji482]

They just cancelled spring High School sports for the state. Kind of surprising they took so long to decide, school itself was cancelled for the rest of the school year more then a week ago.

Like Jima and Dave I'm looking forward to our great trip out west to the Escape Rally then a wedding in CA followed by four nights at the Grand Canyon...oh wait.

Not original with me, but amusing:

It's the middle of April and the Chicago Cubs are still undefeated. Meanwhile, the St. Louis Cardinals haven't won a game.
