Glad to hear that you're on your way home, Jon and praying that you find safe places to rest along your route with no setbacks that might slow you down! Your days of boondocking should stand you in good stead!

They've started to close some of the hiking trails around us, too many people.

Minneapolis has closed off several roads around local lakes to vehicle traffic and opened them up to pedestrian traffic. This will allow people to get outside and enjoy the nice Spring weather ( we’ve warmed up into the 40’s ) and still maintain social distancing
It may not last long cause there talking about 4 to 6” of wet snow .

Meg and I take a good long walk in and through a nearby county park most everyday. Usually we have the place to ourselves, especially on weekdays. Not anymore! There are tons of people now, on bikes or walking, and often with their dogs. It’s a different place. -Tom

We’re seeing the same thing in our neighborhood, Tom. We walk about 5-6 mi daily and use to see no one, now hardly can maintain social distance.

Focus on Inner Peace

I heard a Dr. on TV saying in this time of Coronavirus staying at home we should focus on inner peace. To achieve this we should always finish things we start and we all could use more calm in our lives. I looked through my house to find things i'd started and hadn't finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiumun srciptuns, an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how feckin fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss. An telum u luvum. And two hash yer wands, stafe day avrybobby!!!

The Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life. As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Nova Scotia back country.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions.I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late.
I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.
The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man.
And as I played "Amazing Grace", the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished, I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head was hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen anything like that before, and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years."
Apparently, I'm still lost....it's a man thing.

Here's an interesting site with projections for hospital resource use, deaths per day and total deaths. You can view individual states via the drop down menu.

I retired from posting on this forum. But I have to come out of retirement to congratulate you on this creative composition. Now I am going back into retirement.

But wait, the hardest part of retirement is that I know how to keep the furnace lit, protect the trailer from theft, repair the fridge, and the location best free spectacular camping sites in North America. Just can’t tell anyone. Bye.
