Warm up leftover fried rice in the skillet, then add a over-easy egg on top with several sprinkles of Tabasco - best breakfast ever!

Actual about 15 miles from the Iowa border, in Austin MN.

I think a Spam rally sounds GREAT, southern MN or northern IA would work.

I was once again robbing the Escape for edible things I might have missed- and there is one can of Spam! Might have to try some Spam fries. I left it in there, though, and got the dehydrated hash browns and made an asparagus quiche with a hash brown crust.

We need to get Hormel to provide us with some sample products and other corporate schwag so that we can have a Spam cookoff. We each will prepare a Spam dish and post the pictures for others to compare. The problem is finding Spam, Walmart and Amazon are both out of stock. Perhaps Iowa Dave has been hoarding the supply to prevent others from enjoying.....

I think, no matter what ingredients you add to Spam, the dish still tastes and smells like Spam. But, I've only ever had original. None of those exotic Spams.

Sounds great. It could include a tour of the Spam Museum, and tasting room.
It's certainly worth consideration, at only 1900 mi. from us and our trusty E17A.

I've never tried Spam, it wasn't something my WWII vet father would let in the house.

Spam news

Spam
I’ve been pretty busy out in the garden as we are expecting rain today and tomorrow and
perhaps Saturday again. I started the PANDEMIC isolation with 5 cans of spam, 5
cans of cheap sardines and two cans of kippered herring. After consuming that I have been canned meat deprived except I did have two cans of canned chili which I made into chili dogs a couple days. As Mr Dunham remarked the Hormel SPAM museum is in downtown Austin MN. It is approximately 118 miles from the campground where we had the Pikes Peak Rally last year. The two lane highways that connect the two are a very pretty drive any time of the year there isn’t freezing conditions. Then it’s “diesel smoke and dangerous curves.” An old truck driving song. Not as exciting as Dick Curliss describes the Hanesville Woods up in Maine where “If they buried all the truckers that’s been lost in those woods, there would be a tombstone every mile. Count em off. However yesterday I had to get some of Rita’s favorite candy as it was her birthday (52 I think) so while I was out I picked up some SPAM and some sardines at the Fareway Grocery. A local chain. They only had regular but that was good enough. And sardines in oil which is the only one I eat. So a successful trip. Bought a nice
Pineapple too.
So playing in the black land earth like I did for my mom and dad 60 years ago is the new normal for this old Bohemie. Looks like the Three Frozen Kings have thawed out and are “On the Road Again

Don, we can caravan. Meet at Great Basin NP and then mosey on eastward.

Bobbie, I have never tried dehydrated hash browns. Is there a particular brand you recommend? Thanks.

That’s for me! Love it! Fried rice, egg on top, mmm mmm. Leave out the Tabasco. Extra Soy for me. I’ve been eating that once a week ever since I was in South Korea in the early 70’s.
Mix Kimchi in with when ever I have some.

All I can tell you is that on your way from McGregor Iowa to Austin, Minnesota you should make sure your route does not take you anywhere near Cresco, Iowa. Don will have steering wheel control set to “locomotive” and you might never make the SPAM museum. However, there’s a good grocery store in Cresco where they sell SPAM and it has a good real meat counter too. Now who is salivating Don? They also have a very nice masonry restroom in Beadle Park that is very heavy duty. You might say it’s truly a brick S—- House
