Pizza will have to wait.
Well, you’d think your grocer would “rise” to the occasion...
Maybe if you offer him more dough...

Ugh...! You guys a killing me! I decided to take this forced stay at home opportunity to lose some weight. In 2-1/2 weeks I've lost 13 lbs! Going for 20 to 25. So... I shouldn't be looking at food right now... Especially stuff that looks so... so good!

But... I guess this diet too shall pass (and unfortunately quicker than then virus, I'm afraid.)

We bought a cake of yeast at the Amish grocery about a month ago before the Pandemic came on.
We used some for crasin muffins and it worked well. Yesterday we bought groceries in a small county seat town near us. They had packet yeast and Rita got a three pack. She does not like the fast rising product. They had that too.

There are some suggestions online for baking without yeast. I'm not sure if it would work with pizza dough, but maybe. Even if not perfect, way better than life without pizza.

on edit, i googled no yeast pizza and there are a lot of recipes.

Don't mention pizza please, tomorrow's plan since we finish our 14 day self-isolation today was to go to a nearby town for estimate on truck window, some grocery shopping and pick up a pizza at our favourite place. Instead we're getting hit with up to 25cm of snow

Glad to hear your quarantine "self-isolation" is over. Stay healthy and good luck getting that pizza. We plan pizza tomorrow night as well. Was in the 60's Fahrenheit here today, but sounds like we will miss any winter weather tomorrow..

Adrian,
You may be helping your heart by shoveling the snow and skipping the pizza...

Better yet, eat the pizza while watching the snow melt.

Hi Adrian
Hope you get a nice pizza. What kind will you get? We have been getting Canadian Bacon and Pineapple. If it’s a three topping we add chicken. It feels like we are in the movie Groundhog Day, Do you have Groundhogs in your neck of the woods? Have a great day tomorrow.

Not to me. They are kinda halfway between squirrel and muskrat. The barbecue trifecta at Cecil Brothers Standard Service on football Saturdays when I was but a yute, was a young raccoon, young beaver and.a groundhog in a large roaster with home made barbecue sauce on Bohemian rye bread with either a little Boetjea’s hot mustard or some of my dad’s home ground horseradish. Then washed down with a bottle of Coca-Cola jazzed up with about 2 ounces of cheap blended whiskey. Not for the faint of heart. “Gotta get those kernels out of the legs or it tastes gamey.”

Hi: Iowa Dave... Actually I've never had "Ground hog" but I have had ground pork. A 50/50 mix 1lb of grnd. pk.& 1lb of grnd. beef. Add 1 cup of bread crumbs (Gluten free) if required, soaked in 1 cup of beef broth. Season to taste ie: salt, pepper, bourbon etc, mix well and press into patties. BBQ as you would any bergers!!! YUMM!!! Sorry no pic's... They never last that long. Alf
