Yup. You can lose it in the stock market or maybe get minus interest in a savings account. It's your patriotic duty to spend some.

I'm loving all the banter. We sure need to get out camping soon. Everyone stay safe and wash your hands.

Hi Ralph
We’re missing it too. Hope you’re doing ok . Got a drive up prescription today. Put my credit card on the seat so when I got home Rita could sanitize it to her standards. By the time I got home it had slid down along the console. I could see it down there but had to move the seat back. When I did I found a Little Debbie brownie package that I’d lost the other day. Still good too. So a successful day, got Teresa and family on the road home, mowed the grass, got to drive to town, had a brownie treat. And the beat goes on. Here’s my grandson William, just turned two last week. Gave him a tractor lesson while he was here.

Grandkids

The ancestry showed some Scandinavian DNA. Those rascal Vikings went anywhere they wanted. And a thousand years later, Red hair shows up. Go figure.
And here’s his cousin at three. The two of them together are formidable. Both have red hair, different shades. The three year old greets me with “What a Muskrat“ where did he get that?

Yes, with those wax covered Donettes for breakfast too. The Big Rock Candy Mountain Rally in memory of Burl Ives and Dr Christian Bernard. KFC for dinner.

Hi: mcdonner... Instead of a sticker at the trailer door that says "Watch your step" I think we should have one that says "Wash your hands". Now where did I put that hand sanitizer? Alf

Does that imply the border will not be open anytime soon? I assume a vaccination is somewhere off in the future. I am not aware of one presently being offered.

Hi: cpaharley2008... "Warp speed" only counts in "Star Trek". For the sake of Niagara Wine Escape 2020 I hope things open up soon. Now back to Isolation cooking. It's tiresome eating one's own cooking all the time!!! Alf

Went to the store at 7 am today for the senior express shopping experience, store was empty, they had about 90% of my list, no pork roll though, had to buy Canadian bacon as substitute. Watermelons were $3.00 each, bought two!

I was doing that. And then they reopened construction and now the construction guys are there at 7-7:30 or so, without masks, and I don't feel it is safe anymore. Going to try Sunday morning though that allows summer people to be there- but hopefully not at 7 am.

Ironically the hardware store next door is fine, everyone wears masks. I guess we DIY'ers feel more vulnerable than the construction guys.

Spam

It was 2 cans for $5.00 at the Fleet Farm store this past week. I already had some so did not go there. I don’t know how many varieties they carry, although the original ain’t bad. Love the Black Pepper though. The good news is with a pepper corn grinder you can get about the same effect.

Today's National Hamburger Day. Without going out to the store for oddball ingredients, we're going for blue cheese burgers and grilled asparagus from the garden. And no, they will not be spamburgers.

Aspagus

I like asparagus . I’m not Currently growing any here but thinking about it in the near future. I like my asparagus cooked for a few minutes on a metal pan on the grill so it doesn’t fall through the grill slots.

I’ve been buying some local grass fed beef at our local co-op and it’s pretty tasty. They have a pretty fine grind on it so I kind of have to pay attention as it takes a little longer to grill due to the density. Nothing like a good hamburger on a nice bakery fresh bun with whatever additions are your favorites.

Think I’ll make pork chops or a boneless pork tenderloin (the little guy) with asparagus and foil potatoes tomorrow night.

Happy Grilling

Something I hadn't heard of before and wondering if anyone has tried it, Duck Fat. Looking for a way to get crispy skin on whole chickens.
