That’s a kind offer, thanks again!
You mention your original plan was to stay in the Kootenays for a bit. Maybe you've changed plans but if you still considering "touring" around, please don't. BC is working hard to follow all restrictions and if we aren't allowed to even leave our health zone, we'd appreciate it out of provincers follow the rules. Thanks!

All this is sad to read. Thankfully, we did four months in Canada and Alaska in 2018. Trip of a lifetime. We have tentative plans for the Maritimes and points North for 2022. At the rate things are going I'm not even sure that will happen.

It's amazing, and confusing to me, how two Countries, linked at the hip so to speak, can have such different outcomes from the pandemic.

Hoping things return to near normal for our Canadian friends, soon.

You mean the part where we have nearly 3x the deaths per capita that they do, because they actually shut down travel and enforced it? Despite having far less vaccine available?

Yup. I prefer our outcome, so far. And vaccines are beginning to flow.

I do, too, I'll be glad when we can visit again, though. Another US July 4th with my sound-sensitive dog may just do me in.
