The bureaucrats are right...can't be too careful. It can get really for sure crowded at some of our state parks. This one's called "City of Rocks."

Yes isn't it grand we may have learned from past mistakes. Ask those 17,000 who died and their families what they think....

Well said Donna This NYT article does a very good job of showing why early (and what may seem to some extreme) response is so important: How Much Worse the
Coronavirus Could Get, in Charts

Remember how there was a vaccine and they did everything they could to make sure people got it?

RE: 2009 --How soon we forget.

I remember I was in the trailer at the Eagle View RV in AZ back in 2018 listening to the radio and there was a broadcast report that something called the "Pandemic Response Team" had just been disbanded and all it's experts were fired, by the geniuses in the White House. It wasn't 1984, it was 2018. The Washington Post reported at the time that that team had been tasked (by Obama) with creating a comprehensive biodefense strategy against pandemics.

You can look it up --can't make this stuff up.

Bought the last of my Pandemic Grocery Stock this morning. Rather than invest in the sucker stock market, I bought Doritos, Chicken, steak, spuds and pasta. Already had enough liquor to stay inebriated for at least 45 days. Had to buy another set of shelves the other day to store it all. Waiting for the last of the ice out to go fishing. Redhorse will run soon. Deep fried jalapeño sucker balls with pickled redhorse appetizer.

Please stop posting such inaccurate information. More than 50 million people in the US caught H1N1 in the 2009/10 season. The case fatality rate was about .03% and a vaccine was available. Covid-19 is much worse. The case fatality rate is at least 1%, maybe more. And no vaccine exists yet. We must do everything possible to stop the spread including closures and quarantines.

Social separation is one of the keys. Along with correct hand washing and other sanitation actions the curve can be flattened and hopefully the medical facilities will be able to handle the influx of patients. Sometimes you just have to change plans and hunker down.

You watched Jerry Falwell, Jr on Fox and Friends. Those are his numbers.

You forgot to tell us about Falwell’s idea that corona virus is a North Korean biological weapon. China and NK released it to get back at one specific very stable genius.

Turn off the TV.
Sit back.
Take a deep breath, exhale slowly and repeat after me:
This too shall pass
This too shall pass.

It will be interesting to see if other states follow.

The park name isn't ideal.

Some of the posts on this thread are getting a bit too political, and that usually doesn't end well. Consider this a reminder to try and keep it civil and courteous, taking into account that others here may not share your political views. Thanks.

I think the old saying about an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure comes to mind and really what does it matter if we all take a few precautions to help stop this from spreading in the big scheme of things.
