Provincial and State Park Openings!
Our premier announced this morning that we'll be able to again start booking campsites at provincial parks on Monday. They will open right away with conditions, not every campsite can be booked or occupied close to another, extra washroom cleanings and instructions for use of park facilities handed out. Now we hope that the Manitoba rally can go ahead in August.
Our province has been very good with social distancing efforts and only 273 total cases, only 54 current, with 6 deaths in our population of 1.3 million. Only seven people in hospital and none in intensive care. Monday we're also opening hair salons, elective and emergency surgeries, most non essential shops, and restaurant outside patios only with tables set far apart. The maximum 10 person groups is still in effect. Schools are not reopening and likely won't now before the summer.

Good work by the citizens of your province.
Let’s hope the parks are not flood with infected people from other areas.
We are really glad that we have our own washroom for future camping and do not have to touch very much out of our control.

Update on the Manitoba rally. If the regulation for meeting in no more than 10 people per group stays until September then whoever wants to book at the time of the rally will at least be able to visit around with others in small groups even though there won't be an official rally. Certainly no pot luck!

If they would open the border I could drive up to Canada and get a haircut. It’s only 700 miles. And catfish the Red River too. What? No Americans, how about if I get Slovakia citizenship?

Further update the rally has been cancelled since we cannot have pot luck, pancake breakfast, trailer tours, and workshops (usually have an excellent one on solar) but anyone that wants to book that weekend many of the usual attendees will be there. We likely will as well since it's only 35 minutes from home.

Looks like Michigan State Parks will be open for camping June 22, state forests open for camping on June 10.
https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,...7631--,00.html
So I assume that the Algonac Glassic Egg Scramble (Sept 11-Sept 13) at Algonac State Park is 'on'.

We got a sort of estimate- if things go well- of at least three weeks until State Parks open in Washington for camping. We'll see.

Some US Forest Service campgrounds opening soon
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – U.S. Forest Service’s Rocky Mountain Region officials based in Lakewood announced orders to close regional developed recreation sites will be lifted May 20 in Colorado. It’s up to individual Forest Service agencies to decide which sites can actually operate.
The Rocky Mountain Region includes 24 national forests and grasslands across Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.

I see the thread was closed which was started by Alf about covid door opening which turned into a discussion on covid itself rather than what is beginning to open up. I started this thread so that people could post when their state and provincial (and others) parks open.
As posted #1 our parks in MB are now open and many flocked there this long weekend which has had beautiful weather. We're looking at going this week as it continues sunny with highs in the high 20's C. Washrooms are open but you must bring your own tp and soap.

Texas state parks are opening up for camping today on a limited basis. Only people who previously made campsite reservations can come, no walk-ins or new reservations yet. They expect to announce further changes soon.

Took me some searching to find this link - perhaps some will find it useful...
https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r2/ne...d=FSEPRD739190
My quick scan shows that many recreational facilities will be starting to open on June 1.

That is the big skyline drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. We stayed at the Moraine campground below, in September, I think it was. The elk herds were all on the move.

MA parks are opening next week but campgrounds are 3 weeks from today, at least that's the plan now.

New Mexico State Parks
New Mexico state parks are opening for day use only. No camping yet, however. No idea when they will open up for camping.

And border is closed at least through June 21 still.
Our county is applying for stage 2 but exempting camping from requested activities, which really irks me. Camping is the one thing you can do with close to no contact with others.
