Fingers crossed! We were planning a trip to CO this year but now waiting to see how things go. We are still holding our ABQ Ballon Fiesta tickets... pretty much impossible to have social distancing with that so not holding my breath.

So far it is looking like we'll stay put in NM as we know pretty much what to expect with logistics. Once things settle down CO is back on, even if it is next year.

Don’t leave home unless you have to. We have to. It’s the best way I can think of to deal with my trailer anxiety. Give me camping or give me death. My two propane tanks are double-checked and loaded. Also, the Escape bed linen, pillows and the other necessaries, like canned goods, liquid refreshments, rolls of paper. Let’s roll!

Can’t stand this isolation any more. Got to hit the dusty trail. The sun awaits us. Trailer is packed and we are heading out for yes, The Beach. I have a great need to wash my hands in the ocean. And the masks. We will drive like hell, hoping we don’t get there. Arrive Sunday, just in time to join everybody in the sand, assuming there’s parking.

Got to be careful about towing the trailer onto the beach, of course. Did that once at Elephant Butte Lake. Big mistake. Really big mistake. Lucky then to entice a group of party guys with a deuce and a half to tow us out onto hard sand. Live and learn, right?

I have watched my last mask-making tutorial. I used scissors to cut off the elastic waist band from my worst pair of underwear. There’s no elastic ribbons available in WalMart. That works. My sister is mailing me an extra mask from New Jersey anyway.

It’s been quite some time since New Mexico had an ocean.

Where are you heading?

FYI- things are changing and we don't all have to stay inside while wearing a mask. Am at BLM land not far from home and don't have anyone within 100 yards. It is really nice for my state of mind and there is zero risk for anyone because of me any more than going to the grocery store- or worse Costco and the birds & ground squirrels don't seem to mind me unmasked.

Or you can camp on a Colorado mountain with no neighbors within a mile.
That’s also the ‘new normal’.

Hi: MyronL... Just put the "Bleach" away. Used it to clean the waste tanks on the trailer. Wore a "Mask" while winterizing cause I'm used to it now. It's very precedential as it works both ways you know. Alf

Hi Myron
I opened a new gallon of bleach to sanitize my fresh water system last week. Left the bottle set out by my mailbox and darned if some of my neighbors didn’t come in at night and swig down a couple quarts.
Oh well, I have more.

Yuk yuk...there's a pit toilet here at White Star @ Twin Lakes, CO you would love. Sign on door says you gotta wear a mask to enter.

Masks while driving

Serious question- why do solo drivers ride around wearing a mask? Is this how to easily identify OCD?

You may have seen a lot of solo Oregonians last week in their motor vehicles wearing a mask. Wildfire smoke! But, I don't judge even if there is no smoke. There may be reasons I know nothing about.

One reason to ride around wearing a mask might be that you only have one with you, have been in somewhere, and do not want to contaminate your hands removing it and then possibly your face putting it back on. Leaving it on is safer than removing and replacing between stops.

I've lost count of the many times at the WallyWorld, Costco, etc., I had to stop, turn around and walk back to the car to get a mask hanging off the Garmin.

Me too Myron; wish you could see coming up to CO right now- it is awesome! Last year this time we had the big blow and now very calm at Cottonwood Lake.
