Covid 19

Covid 19 98-99% recovery rate much better than the seasonal flu=Why we were not lockdown for the last 50 years is beyond me.

Recent evidence in Indiana and elsewhere around the world shows the mortality rate for Covid-19 to be 6 times higher than the seasonal flu. That's why we haven't been locked down for the last 50 years.

Evidence

So much evidence proving different "facts" and the funny thing is it depends on who is paying them as to what they "find". LOL!!

The US has 1.9M recovered as of today according to worldmeters.info
Total deaths is 146k.
Someone else can do the percentage math.

Johns Hopkins website: "In the U.S, 142,073 people have died of COVID-19, as of July 22, 2020....In the U.S., from Oct. 1, 2019 – Apr. 4, 2020, the CDC estimates that 24,000 to 62,000 people died from the flu."

Alternative "facts" are not facts. All sources of information are not equivalently reliable.

This thread is supposed to be about the plague, not Covid.

Guess there is one thing (really two) we can be thankful for that is different today. Back in the Middle Ages during that sunami of plague deaths they didn't know what was causing it all, and they didn't have the means to efficiently and safely dispose of so many bodies. You could walk outside your door and see bodies all stacked high, down the streets, where they just stayed. The wealthy moved away, the rest hoped it would finally just fade away,

Some things never change. Today the leadership knew it was coming, we knew how to best fight it before it got us, but.... well, guess we know how well that has played out.

Anyway, no bodies in the streets.

Actually, there have been several cases of the plague reported here in New Mexico. I in fact, got a scare when cleaning out rodent feces in the garage I found and removed a rabbit nearby, dead from no visible causes. First thought: was it plague? The hospital immediately put me in quarantine for 3 days. False alarm.

Watch it Dave or someone might think you're speaking about politics and we all know that's not allowed

Hi Adrian
Has the flow of illegal aliens fleeing the United States in favor of your fine city slowed down or are they still cleaning out the food bank?

If that was the death toll over 12 months , it still wouldn’t lessen the tragedy

Well Dave things have slowed down here but they are still coming. Overall I just checked a government site which showed across the country the crossings between legal entry points was the lowest in the first quarter this year than it's been for three years. It will be interesting to see the second quarter with the legal entry points being virtually closed.

There's a rumour that an American, resident in Vermont, crossed illegally into Quebec claiming refugee status
