Okay... I have a 17B on order next year so these lists are very interesting to me.... I didn't see a shut off valve for the toilet listed - I have never had a toilet/black water rig - dry camper here with little porta potty. What is the shut off valve - how is it used? Reason for eliminating the range hood and br sink? How wonderful your pickup date has moved up...!

Patricia, the toilet shut off valve means if you need to fix the toilet in the future, you can cut off its water supply without cutting off water to the rest of the trailer.

As for omitting the range hood and the bathroom sink, remember, these are personal preferences. For every customer who omits the sink or the range hood, there are several who like these features and leave them intact.

That makes complete sense regarding the toilet shutoff valve - so that is not included in the base unit? Glad to know as I would definitely want to have that. And the range hood - not cooking inside? I can understand the br sink. This forum is completely, incredibly FANTASTIC!!!! So many ideas and things to consider that I would not have thought about... and the support for us newbies moving from dry camping to these new fangled "luxuries" is much appreciated!

Not cooking inside is one of the reasons some folks omit it. Some do cook inside with it omitted, but rely on the Maxx fan and maybe an open window to vent cooking odors out. Others omit it because they like how it looks without it. Personally, I like the range hood, especially since I modified it with a better fan and light.

The shutoff valve is not standard. There's a nominal charge to add it.

I omitted br sink for additional room. Removed kitchen fan because of reading posts pro & con. Feel optional kitchen window & maxfan will do the trick. Again personal preference but can be swayed! Took out range hood in my scamp as it intruded on space & wasn't very functional.

I agree. My plan is to omit the bathroom sink because I want the additional free space for when I am using the shower. Also I will move the TP roll over to a side wall. For me the bathroom sink is too small for convenient use and there will be a hand soap dispenser at the kitchen sink. I considered the 21 solely because of the larger bathroom but decided on the 5.0 TA.
I think a lot of people use the sink as a shelf to hold stuff. I'll use suction cup holders. There is no credit for omitting the sink though.

Too many complaints about the noise and poor power of the range hood. I would rather omit it, and the hole cutout, and have a light fixture there. I am considering a second MaxxFan in the vent hole above the kitchen. Not getting the A/C there. No credit for omitting the range hood either.

This is easy when it is somebody else's money!

-Consider upgrading to the 4CF fridge. The standard 3CF seems pretty small.
-Aluminum rims (looks great)
-gaucho bunk (really neat option only available in the 17)
-extra set of upper brake lights if you'll have bikes on a rear rack
-wall mount TV arm
-with solar I assume camping mostly off grid otherwise maybe add 2-way hot water heater for flexibility and A/C? If not A/C maybe 2nd MaxxFan.

It's small, and not as comfortable to use as a larger sink, but the fact that its small means it's not in the way at all when showering -- at least not for us.

Ours didn't work well at all, and it was very noisy -- that is, until I modified it with the SAM-1 kit from Fabulous Operating Products. Now it vents like nobody's business, and is whisper quiet.

The cost and trouble of adding the SAM-1 kit pushed me to consider just having an additional MaxxFan installed above the sink area. My wife cooks Chinese food, which really is camping food but we would NEVER cook that inside the trailer with or without a range hood. Our use of the trailer stove will be for boiling water and making soup if we can't cook outside.

Wanted 4 cf reefer but was dissuaded when heard about decrease in aisle dimensions. Think 3 cf will work ok. I hope!

Is there anywhere close to home (Camping World?) where you may be able to physically view a 3cf and compare to the 4cf refrigerator? Remember with absorption refrigerators the food needs air space around it to be efficient. You do not pack a refrigerator tight with food.

Even my Scamp has a 4cf refrigerator. I can't imagine camping with anything smaller. YMMV.

Is this an option for all trailers or just the 17?

I need my 5 cu. ft. fridge. Space in the fridge trumps space in the aisle.
(apologies to those who have seen this pic several times )

Looks like the upper lights are standard now on the other models based on the ETI website. Still looks like an option on the 17.

I have the 3-cubic-foot refer and find it completely adequate. If boondocking away from civilization for an extended period, a supplemental ice chest will work just fine. It's all about expectations.
