17B Bed

Does anyone know the dimensions of the bed in the 17B?

I can't get out to my trailer right now, but my notes indicate that the bed at the front of the trailer is 30" wide and 78" long. I didn't measure the depth, but I think it's about 6". I don't know about the mattress if in the back.

i just measured that area in my 17 A and it is 75 1/2 inches wide. That makes sense as the exterior dimension for width is 80 which includes the walls.

I was surprised that this isn't given in the specs online. "back in the day" there was a schematic that had a lot of measurements, cupboards and counters and beds etc. but it's not there now that I can find.

Thank you. Yes, I was surprised as well. But that measurement does make sense.

H2owmn's measurements work if you're placing the bed at the BACK of the trailer. I turned the dinette at the F'RONT into a permanent bed. I just went out and to find that the mattress provided in October last year measured 30" wide, 76" long, and 7" deep. (The mattress is quite a snug fit; I'd have preferred a mattress that's at least an inch smaller all around.) I added a 4" piece of the firmest foam my local distributor provided, topped it with a 3" piece of latex, and encased all in a zippered moisture-proof mattress protector. Most folks seem to sleep well on the mattress without enhancements, but the combination of fibromyalgia and arthritis have me exhibiting the "princess and the pea" syndrome. I sleep comfortably now. Just need a little stool to get in and out of it!
