I'm straying a bit from the current discussion on this thread, but since the title is 19' vs 21' I guess this belongs here.

I currently have a 17B modified for a single, long trip traveler, and have been looking at a reversed 19 to replace it. After looking at the layout of a 19 with the options I want, I changed my mind and ordered a 21. Because some of the options for a 19 are standard in the 21 (such as the larger 2 door refrigerator), and the oven takes up lots of drawer/cabinet space in the 19, the switch made sense. Because I didn't need to add the cost of the reversed bed, the 21 (with the same options) is only $55.00 more than the 19. I still prefer the layout of the 19, but the extra space in the 21 will be handy.

I am replacing the drawer cabinet with a full height cabinet & drawers (thanks to seeing that modification in Pete & Nancy's "Early Escape" at the Niagara Wine Escape Rally - See post #73 in the its Friday 2017.... thread.) Lots of options including no TV & 2 solar panels. I'll add a build list a bit later.

So, I have joined the year long waiting list. Since I will be living in the 17 over the winter, it won't be available until spring.

Congratulations, Jon!
Wish I was welcoming you to the 19ers, but hey makes sense for what you need and you certainly have the tow for it now. Can't wait to see it.

Wow - congrats!!!! I didn't see that change coming.

As usual I see you have thought about all the variables very logically.

Bravo.

I would have waffled back and forth much more.

I've been reassured multiple times the Tundra can handle all that, but I am wanting to know weights and all that.
What Tundra do you have? The 5.7 or the 4.6? Just curious. Either one will handle the 21. The 5.7 most likely better in the mountains. We will be picking up our 21 in about 3 weeks +/- will be hauling it back to New York from Chilliwack with our Tundra with the 4.6 engine. After the trip I will follow up with a review of how this truck handled the tow. We were at frist going to get the 19, and tow it with our Tacoma double cab. But when we switched to the 21, I upgraded to the Tundra as I was not comfortable with the payload after I ran the numbers. That's just me as I know lots of poeple tow a 21 with they're Tacoma, but I prefer extra Room in payload and max trailer wt.

We ordered the 5.7 and it'll be here in early/mid-November. I'll have about a month to get used to the truck and break it in a bit before zipping up to get The Trailer.

Walk in the park for that truck! With 401 foot pounds of torque, even if you load the 21 to max, wt. of 4600 lbs your still at less than 50 percent of that trucks rating. Congratulations beautiful truck! And trailer!

Thanks John! Yeah, we're rather excited, to say the least. We were going to get a 2016 Tundra, but since the trailer's completion date wasn't moved up by any great amount of time due to a mess up on their part, we decided to order the 2017 (Toyota didn't appear to change anything between the 16s and 17s). Today I ordered the canopy for it! Even more excitement going on around here. And tomorrow I hand off everything for the build that they need from me. Oooo, the excitement is hard to contain now!
