Right - the 5.0 was based on the 17' (which has the refrigerator on the curb/passenger side), but from about the entry door rearward the 5.0TA is based on the 21' (which has the refrigerator on the street/drivers side).

When they first came out with the plans for the 19 it was set up with the fridge on the passenger wall too, but then some very nice fellow convinced them to put it on the same side as the bath, and open up the sight lines a bit. That guy deserves to be bought a beer or two.

I'll remember this if I can make it. I will be there some year soon.

Thanks again for all the feedback! Out of the 20 questions, there are only a few where additional feedback wouldn't hurt. But not really a big deal.

13. Are there any features in the trailer to protect from lightning strikes?

(My “home base” has the distinction of being named “Lighting Alley”.
Is Florida really the lightning capital of the world?
Any idea if fiberglass trailers are less prone to lighting, or if there is a lightning rod option etc.)

16. What kind of temperatures might be comfortably camped with and without the added insulation options? (There’s already some good feedback, but wouldn’t hurt to hear from other Escape campers.)

17. Are the kitchen counters residential height? 36 inches?

20. Overall, how happy have you been with your 5.0TA and do you see the need to upgrade or downgrade down the road? (There’s already some good feedback, but wouldn’t hurt to hear from other Escape campers.)

I'm very happy with my 5.0 TA. When I'm in it or think about it, I get a very good feeling and remind myself how lucky I am to have it. Can you really ask for anymore than that? I can't. I guess if I could improve one thing, it would be access to the batteries for maintenance. I wish they slid out on a tray to the back of the trailer, as opposed to having to disassemble the U shaped dinette. I would not be surprised if Escape is working on a easier way. Aside from that, I don't have any plans for any upgrades in the near future
