21 Front Window option

Hello,

We’re finalizing our build sheet and did not opt for the additional front window with the rock shield. I was just wondering if anyone regretted not adding this option. Thanks so much!

We did not go for the front window.Like that clean look at the front. But on the other hand the trailer will be a little darker inside.
We like it that way, happy we did not get the window since it is also off center.

Sorry I can’t help you much with your question as we have a 19, but I know some like the shelf that goes there at the head of the bed.
But I do want to say welcome and hope to see you at the Escape Appreciation Rally in May.

We also did not add this option and do not miss it. Fewer holes in the shell, a better appearance, and the shelf is very useful. We are currently working on a padded headboard under the shelf for a bit more tailored appearance.

Personally, I think it looks a little strange outside, since it is off center and the shelf inside is indispensable.

One advantage often mentioned for the 19 is that you can see out all four directions. The front window in the 21 allows this. We love the extra natural lighting, and the view in all four directions. Just our experience, though.

We attended a rally where there were 9 E 21s. Seven did not have the window and two did. One was ours. It came with the Escape when we bought it from the original owners. We do not have the shelf inside but we really like the extra light we get from the window during the day , especially when it’s cloudy. We don’t mind the off center positioning due to the bathroom. We are form follows function people so lack of perfect symmetry does not bother me at all. Personally if I were getting a new 21 I’d get the window. The rock guard only takes a minute to open or close.

We have the window in our 21, one of the first options we selected. The extra light is much appreciated. The off-center look adds character.

If I was getting a 21 I would get the window. The shelf is an easy workaround and any extra light (and view) would be welcomed.

I you have one you can always close it if you want, but.......

We will shortly be taking delivery of our 21 and we chose the window. On sat up in the bed of the showroom 21 and found we didn’t like the shelf. In addition, one of the spots we like to camp has the lake view at the front of the trailer, so there was no way we wanted to miss that. Yes it looks off centre, but it’s not life threatening or anything like that. We’ll live with it to get the extra lights and the views.

Just know, unless you sit really tall you won't have much of a view out the front window when sitting at the rear dinette.

R:Escape.
We had a headboard made.Had enough material left for a headboard and upholstery shop made it up for us.So it is a colour match.Cost was $ 160 Canadian.Feel kind of cosy and with a pillow you will not hit your neck on the shelf while sitting up.

How about posting a picture of that headboard please.

Hi Angie,
Martha and I did not choose the window and for us the shelf offers many advantages. At first I wondered if the shelf would be an unexpected nuisance but after viewing a few 21's with and without the window for us we liked the shelf better. Then during the build my wife found that she needed a CPAP machine and her's sits nicely on the shelf. I have no regrets with our decision and I suspect that most who choose the window option also have no regrets. In the end we all tend to enjoy our trailers and live without regrets about the little things.

Most importantly, owning and camping in our 21' brings us great joy and satisfaction.

Happy camping to you!

We also did not get it and still happy with that decision.Love the shelf. If I had known about the window over the stack of drawers, I would have gotten it. On a cloudy day it would give much needed natural light in the kitchen area. But still love my trailer just the way it is.

I didn't get the window, love the shelf, but do wish I had a way to look out the front of the trailer. I get plenty of light through the front side window. Maybe a periscope?

Can u still get the optional window above the night stand which would let more light in if one didn't get front window?

It is one of those options that is not on the list. You just have to know it is available. Last time someone mentioned it, it was $300. Canadian. The front window is also an option.

The current price for the frameless thermal bath window, $300 and the frameless thermal over the night stand is $350. I believe it maybe a little bigger than the bath. both prices are canadian $.
