3 dogs 2 adults which model?

Morning Escapers

Our completion date is March 2022, so we have some time to figure everything out. We drove to the BC coast to our sailboat and when we return next month we are stopping at Escape to see the trailers in person

We did make one decision on the 3 day drive down here. Our new Dodge Ram diesel
1500 does not have the payload to carry 2 humans, 2 labs, and a German shepherd, plus screen room, cabellas table, fire pit, etc in the back

So, we are not getting the 5. The 23 looks nice, but we don’t like the separate shower set up. Also, we don’t know when that one will even be available

So practically it’s the 21. NE versus C. I had major wrist surgery 2 months ago and can no longer flex my wrist so I can’t use my right wrist to assist me in getting out of bed. The north south bed in the C would be best I think but the bed looks small, unless we can convince the dogs to sleep on the dinette ‘bed’

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks so much

We have the 21NE and an 80 lb Shep-Sky that sleeps with us at home and on the road.

Convincing your dogs to sleep elsewhere may prove a challenge, particularly if one of them decides it's the favourite and deserves the parents comfort.

I'm inclined to think that the 'double' bed of the 21C would prove best. Less room for the family, forcing them to decide on the best position in the dinette.

I also suggest the LAGUN table top, which frees up the under table floor space for the dogs to sleep since there is plenty of room between the two sides of the dinette. It doesn't sound like you'll be accommodating any additional 2 legged family members, so a smaller table top and the LAGUN may work for the 5 of you.

Add a large dog bed that you can easily store during the day, placed in the dinette area at night, may well work best.

Thanks so much for this. I think you are right

You are in Cowitchin? We’ll be anchoring in Genoa bay next week. Any chance we could look at your NE?

I like the C layout but the bed is bigger on the NE. The shepherd is my son’s dog so we wouldn’t always have her. Definitely won’t have more humans aboard

We can make either one work for us, it’s just a case of having a look practically

Thanks so much for the input

Personally, sounds like the Bigfoot 25 Rear Queen is your answer

You're more than welcome to peruse JoMoE, our 21NE. Here's a link to the Ambassador program. You can book through ETI and they will contact me direct.

We're home for the next few weeks, so I'll make sure I fit with your schedule.

We had a fantastic visit with Oops yesterday who was gracious enough to show us his 21 NE. A wealth of practical information and we sure appreciated it and enjoyed the visit.

The 21 NE looks perfect for us and that’s what we have decided to go with

Can’t wait for March 18 now

Huge thank you to Oops for your generosity and kindness in everything you did yesterday for us

I can not make up my mind, first I had an E19, then and E21, back to a E19 and then back to E21 and now guess what, we are going back to a E19? The nice thing about an Escape is they hold their value and are easy to sell, now we are planning on picking up our 2022 E19 on the way to the Escape Rally next May.....I hope, I hope. I hope!

Just give the dogs the big bed and sleep on the dinette bed.

Thank you. A most enjoyable afternoon...and although a confirmed landlubber, I am envious of your water travels. No doubt our paths will cross again.

Some times, it seems to me, you just have to make a stand, and stick with it, and live with it, or not....your choice. Do as you please, I guess. But 5 Escapes?

If you ask me, the guy is an inspiration. Hopefully I am around long enough to buy five of them.

Or just learn to change the propane tank instead of purchasing a new trailer each time it goes empty.

Here's hoping it winds up being 6 or 7. After all, a propane tank will eventually run low (inside joke).
