6’ 7” & King Bed?

Hi all,

I’ve been reading your forum for over a year and enjoying learning observing and sharing from a distance your community and enjoyment of Chilliwack Eggs.

I seem to like the designs and relative compactness of the trailers; I’m interested in the 5.0ta. At my height do any of you taller folk think I’m at or beyond the comfort level of the trailer? I’m looking forward to seeing one in a month when the owner comes back home. I told him to hurry up!

Is it possible to fit in a King mattress in place of the queen upstairs? Or if not, maybe two twin XLs to effectively make a king?

I’ve camped a lot as a kid in scouts and as an adult leader with two Eagle sons but have never had a trailer of any sort. About to retire; would you suggest something else to consider before graduating to an Escape? I foresee a mix of use both camping and longer term/distance traveling.

I’ve tried searching the forum on my bed questions; sorry if similar questions/discussions exist and I missed finding them.

Thank you & maybe one of these days I’ll have a chance to pull in a space near you in a park or at a rally.

Regards, Todd

Welcome Todd,
I would think that some of your concerns could be addressed by contacting Escape direct as well as studying the specifications shown on their website for the upper area in the 5.0 TA.

EscapeGator, ETI does offer two twins but the cubbys are remove. Talk with ETI about measurements.

This thread confirms what Kare said about the lower cabinets (cubbies) being left out by ETI. Also post #9 discusses some modifications of a foam king mattress around the cubbies, but it appears this was on a classic 5.0TA before the mold change. It would be best to speak to ETI. From the picture you can see what you are up against. In either case it sounds like you would need to provide your own mattress.
