70 Degrees almost became 5000 degrees

While Phoenix burns this week, we took 70 Degrees and headed to our cabin in the White Mountains of AZ where it's 70 degrees!
We woke up at 4 am almost being thrown out of bed. Turns out we were almost obliterated by a meteor that hit not far away and lit up the night skies all the way throughout the state.

Watch: Arizona meteor sightings caught on video - CBS News

I've almost been taken out by lightning, fallen off cliffs, near dehydration, etc. I can now cross off being nearly obliterated by a meteor from my bucket list.

Wow, that was close. So much for Escaping. You'll never look at that cabin the same.

Kinda reminded me of The World According to Garp when he was seeing a house to buy with the Realtor and a plane crashed into the house. Turning to the Realtor he says I'll take it! Stunned the Realtor asks Why? Garp responds Because what are the odds of that happening again.....

That makes sense rereading it. Curious as to the significance of the name.

Wow, Greg, good thing you had your Escape trailer with you. They are meteor proof, you know. Oh, wait. Never mind. Cabins - not.

Lol we picked the name due to 20 years of 100+ degree summers, we need to follow 70 degree temps when trailering. So far the wimpy owners and lil 19 named "70 Degrees" have been pretty successful at locating temps close to that. While Phoenix is supposed to hit 112 today we're sitting in the high 70's.

Hi: Greg A... A Meteor was the same thing as a Ford... but only available in Canada. If you drove one to the US and went to a Mercury dealer for service they didn't have a clue!!! Alf

Hey, Alf. My dad drove a Mercury Meteor. This was in central Texas, back in the mid-60s... Before we got the Mustang (which we didn't do 'til it was four years old).

So Alf, why are Canadians launching old Meteors at the US? Should we retaliate this act of aggression by launching Edsels back?
