You can, and do drop them from the outside to help with bugs, but they don’t totally seal until you go in and latch them. noseeum’s can still get in.

Hi - great discussion by everyone - we are going with the glass sliders and manual awning. As much as I like the idea of the acrylic windows, the design of dropping the screen to close the window needs to be improved and of course having a manual awning, the slide type windows are going to be our choice.
