It's constructed with a wood frame covered with thin paneling. The only way to get a wire fished into it is at the ends of the cabinet which is covered by another panel.

See the pics attached. First one is from inside the upper cabinet and shows the panel isolating the wiring coming up from the captains light. The next one show the location of the captain light.

As said above if you go into the front or rear corners.

Or there is a good chance you can pick power from the wires behind the corner pads.

If you go in the inner corners by the bathroom, front door, fridge and stove you can just fish from the center pancake light.

All the captains lights that Escape installed were powered off the pancake lights closest to them. Should be easy to install later as removing the pancakes should give you a wire fishing spot.

I would recommend NOT buying the lights Escape uses - the switches on them are failing in less than two years and the light beams are really too wide and bright.

Try something like these instead.

To piggyback on Tomís (tdf-texas) post, those are the lights I ordered to replace the ones the ETI installed. Lola really likes them. They provide the 3000K warm light, not the cool light.

I found these to be an excellent replacement of the cabinet pancake lights and they have an indicator light also, light is very thin, maybe 1/2" thick https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We ordered 4 captains lights located at the 4 corners of the trailer. We plan on changing 2 of the lights to 12volt fans similar to another forum member did.

I got the fan idea here. I donít see it, but the wire size was listed somewhere. But I think this is likely to be flexible, or subject to change.

I am of the same mind as Perry on this one !
Order all 4 lights and solve the dilemma. . The additional cost isnít enough to worry about .

Thanks for the link and suggestions. We did not have captain's lights installed nor did we fully comprehend just how many lights ETI installs as standard. We do not like the bright pancake lights above your head in bed so based on the info above we decided to replace one pancake light to test how we like it.

Wow....so easy to install and what a difference. I think we'll replace all pancake lights under the cabinets (and get a double headed light as recommended by Eggscape above).

Now to figure out a cover plate to cover-up a couple of the holes from the pancake light. Any suggestions or sources?

Glade,
Maybe a light colored putty would be the easiest fix.

They look great!

Perhaps ETI would send you a short piece of the wood grain tape they use to seal cabinet gaps. Reace sent me a bit long ago, you’d have to know where to look to see it installed.

I got a roll of it last year when I picked up my Escape, as well as 2'x2'extra piece of paneling. If you lived closer............
