So Fred, your photos beg that you answer this question:
How many beers does it take to level an Escape?

Also, if you first drive up on 2 small pieces of wood, (each tire) you will create more room to allow you to get the leveler between the tires.

Does anyone know if the spacing between the axles on the 2017 21' is the same as a 2017 5.0 TA? I'd like to pre-trim my Anderson levelers before I pick up my 5.0 TA in April.

Don't know how much experience you have with them Fred, but I've found they slide on occasion when pulling onto them. Carrying a rubber pad of some sort works in those instances.

What I can do is to trim mine to fit after I get it, long before your pickup, and post here.

Do take heed of Bob's warning -- especially when trying to level on gravel surfaces. We trimmed ours as well and twice now, we've 'slipped' when on gravel pads and managed to jam the trimmed leveler between the tires. One time, we thought we might have to jack up the trailer to get it out.

Hmmm...good option to consider. Do you mean something similar to this grip pad but in a larger version?
In two years of traveling with our Casita, I found that when leveling on a site with loose gravel, the Anderson would slide on me. So, I took my small shovel and scraped the gravel down to bare ground. But, I like to be prepared for all situations. Thanks for the tip.

I was able to get mine between the tires without trimming on my 2015 TA. Not sure if the spacing on the 2017 will be the same as I believe Escape is using different axles now.

Never used these, but seems like a lot of additional things that have to be done to get them working and prevent sliding. With wood blocks or Lynx blocks never have encountered any of this stuff and they are xtremely handy for other functions like under tongue and stabilizer feet, etc.

Stu,
On the 2017 21' TT that we just picked up, the distance between axles is approximately 30.25".

Hi Greg,
Aside from a one time re-trimming to get one of the Anderson Levelers to fit between the tires, these are the best thing since sliced bread. For us, the sliding was a rare exception. Before the Escape, I used one on the Casita for two years and loved it. However, we all have our preferences and that is all good too.

Thanks, Fred. When Quartzsite gets going I'd love for you to show me this setup and why it is desirable. Old dog, but can still learn new tricks.

Fred, In lieu of that material, trimming an old beer cozy would work too. I've found that if you drink your beer in a timely fashion, cozies are not necessary

Just a heads up for those with 5.0TA's. For the first time I ran into a site where I could not raise the front of the trailer enough to get it level, even up on my 2x blocks. The site didn't look to be off much, but it was too much. Bring extra of whatever you use to raise such.

So here's a question or two....At the RV show here in Spokane this weekend, there was a factory rep from Anderson at a booth selling all their products. I was interested in purchasing the levelers. He suggested that for trailers less than 26 feet that only one leveler was needed even if the trailer had dual axles. We'll be getting a 5.0TA next month. Do you think the trailer will be stable enough with only one leveler or should I get two? Also do you use bal x-chocks on both sides of the trailer? Mark
