Pro Series use chains on side to cinch up. No slide damper however. Can get either round bars or trunnion. I have the round bars and install each side with lock pin in less than a minute per side.

I bought the gas/electric water heater when I ordered my 2013 Escape and have yet to use it on the electric mode. No regrets though.

Interesting because the operation of the element is simple on/off.

We didn’t get either item in your original question. We sometimes camp with electricity, but rarely in a position to take long showers (I.e., no sewer hookup, so the gray water holding capacity is a limiting factor). Our 21C has the standard dinette, so the house battery is in the rear passenger side bin, wch doesn’t leave much room for anything else. We do keep a couple of fans (one 12v, one 110v) in there, though, and I must admit we would use the fans more if it were easier to retrieve them (and put them away when packing up to move). We did get the rear driver’s side access hatch and are very glad of it, so if doing again, I would also get the passenger side hatch (especially since I think your batteries are stored differently with the U-shaped dinette).

You could also go without the built in EMS, and use something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PRS5NPB/, which provides more functionality for less money. The money saved would cover your electric hot water heater option.

So true but unfortunately they sometimes walk off or get left behind and with the built in progressive if it fails, progressive will send you a new one free. Been there already when a severe lighting storm hit, fried the progressive but saved all the electronics in the trailer. Money well spent in my books

Since chemo I'm pretty forgetful so leaving a portable EMS is highly likely. My wife claims I'm not forgetful since I can always remember to replace my favorite bottle of bourbon when it gets close to empty.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and reminders. We are so excited to finally be at this point.

So enough and I'll be posting construction photos of our "Side Effect".

You might want to check either the EMS or the water heater. Mine also draws 12 amps.

Unless you exclusively camp where there are electrical hookups you are unlikely to ever recoup the cost of adding electric to the water heater in propane savings.

Shortly after getting our previous trailer, our daughter needed to live in it full time for a few months, parked next to a relative's house. The water heater in that trailer was not only propane only, it had a pilot light. Using propane for hot water and cooking the trailer used about one 20 lb tank a month.

The full height cabinet is a hard no for my wife. She "demands" all of the window. Plus, we chose the U-Shaped dinette because we have a very spoiled dog who requested his personal seating area.

For some reason I can buy an $800 storage box but somehow can't get over the extra $190 for an electric option on the hot water heater. Funny how that works.
That's because the $800 storage box is worth it, the $190 for the electric water heater option isn't.

I agree with the Front Box and EMS. I had a driver's side outside shower on our previous trailer, never used it. I added the passenger side shower on my 2020 Escape 19, still haven't used it. But, figure someday we might as we slow down and spend more time at the campsite.

Congratulations on beating cancer. I'm a 15 year cancer survivor. Chemo Brain is real. I take Ritalin for Chemo Brain and it helps a lot. Talk to a neurologist that specializes in cancer patients about possibly prescribing it.

One last comment, despite your dog being spoiled, dogs are very good about 'new place, new rules'. So, even if your dog has a place to sit now, they really aren't going to expect one in your new trailer.

I went to the store earlier to get a brass wire brush for my new grill.

Forgot the brush - Remembered the bourbon.

Funny thing is that I had a list with Wire Brush on it and nothing about bourbon.

Sorry, we just sent a big pile of extra dollar bills to Escape about three weeks ago. That and the extra dollar bills it took to collect this big pile of RV camping gear in our living room has us about tapped out at the moment.

Heading out to Sumas in two days to see how well our money was spent.

Happy Camping, WillyB!

Thank you very much, Jim! We hope it’s a trip of a lifetime - and the first of many.

P.S. - Since you just picked up #5, I know you are one to offer a show of appreciation for ETI’s helpful staff. Any intel on what they like? We’d like very much to do the same. There are some very kind people there who showed great patience working with us newbies.

Both Karl and Samuel were very gracious and they even attended the rally later that week.

Looks good, congratulations. You've got a few months to search your furniture for some extra money.

My final suggestion is to get your trailer and go have fun making memories.

You can worry forever about options, but next to none of them will take away from a great experience. Besides, I really seems we all have differing ideas of what is best for us.
