We also got the keyless lock on our 2020 from Escape. It is similar to the RV Lock, but was so stiff that it was hard to use, impossible for someone with arthritis in hands. We ordered and installed the RV Lock (bought on sale, thanks to heads up from this forum) and it is MUCH easier to open. Our experience as 70’s aged women anyway It’s all about adapting.

We bought the Combination lock and don’t like it. It is hard to close from the inside and the keypad number “label” is cracking.

My keypad is also cracking but it's four years old so I just ordered a new one on sale today they are inexpensive.
I also have a hard time locking my door from inside, outside locking is easy. I have to slam the door closed so I can lock it

Think they also charge for delivery. Seems a lot of money for a thin piece of material, and you'll need to replace it again at some point.

We added a piece of clear Con-Tact paper over the membrane right after we installed the lock. We did this after having to replace similar membranes on other devices in the past. When the clear film wears out, just pull it off and replace it.

$1.99 shipping is what it cost us when I ordered 2 of them last year

Wish I’d thought of the con-tac paper I’ve use it to cover the touch screen on our vehicles

Their shipping has gone up. I just bought two membranes and shipping was $4.99. Great tip on the con-tac paper I'm going to try that.

How did you have it shipped. I just went to their site and it was still only a $1.99 for me in the envelope.

I just went to their site also. You can't pick any shipping options it comes USPS. If I order one membrane it 1.99 to ship but if I order 2 it's 4.99. I'm assuming it's a weight thing.

So, tell them to ship separately. 2X $1.99 = $3.98.

There are many locks on Amazon that are identical to the RVLock V4. I have to think they are all made in the same factory in China and given different finishes to distinguish the different "brands". The keys with the one I bought are really cheap locks that are probably easily defeated.

The one I used and I picked it not for price but that it has the best documentation of any, was by Carmtek and in early 2020 it was quite a bit cheaper than the RVLock V4 but they have dropped their prices to compete so the Carmtek is now $227 and $20 off for a coupon and the RVLock is only $239. When I bought the RVLock was, I want to say, pushing $300.

We have an RV lock, purchased on the black Friday sale.

I can't recommend it enough.

The keyless lock was one of the few things that we didn't option from Escape and regretted it almost immediately.

We also have the 4.0 right handed with integrated keypad on our Escape 21. It is so nice to be able to lock & unlock without having a key in hand. Definitely recommend it. They do run sales frequently, so watch for a sale.

I replaced the keyless lock with the RV lock, too. When I had both out, it was obvious the RV lock is of superior quality- the wiring is heftier, the deadbolt better. And amazingly it also works! (The door wouldn't close easily with the original lock.) I never use the keyfob. I bought my lock for a cheaper price as a refurbished one but when the corner had a crack they replaced that piece with a new one- so I'd recommend that, or waiting for a sale on new ones.

We love how well our RVLock works and have used on for almost 6 years now. The current one is a replacement from when someone broke into our trailer and they first tried, but unsuccessfully, busting the lock out. Breaking the door window worked better for them.

The only trouble we have had with it is that in time the push button number pad wears out and needs to be replaced. This is very easy to do. What I would recommend to people buying is to order two of these replacement pads when you order the lock and just store them. It saves a separate shipping charge. We did just replace ours after about 4 years on this lock.

Work with old door?

Will any combo locks work with the old body style escape molded door?
