To suggest “They can’t keep the border closed….” Is more hopeful than probable from my perspective. Without going into political commentary, there are a variety of interests at play, both on this continent and globally.

Only time will tell. Anyone who’s been a Cub, Scout, Brownie or Guide can appreciate “being prepared”. That’s what much of this forum provides, the knowledge to be prepared, or at least the knowledge to work through a problem.

And that from a man who has been there. Hope you’re doing ok Jim. . thought of you yesterday when I was watering my 15 pepper plants. And hoped we get to camping together real soon.

Also your comment above reminded me of an adage that I’ve been fond of since the first time I heard it “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.”

Have a good weekend, Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there. Be good to yourself on at least one day of the year.

Depending on location. Weather patterns are always changing, though, so maybe you'll get some relief later on. One can hope.

Unhappy Warm summer

Were already into (Southern California) the first major heat wave of the summer. They have already broken records for the highest temperature in the whole Southwest. Arizona has already closed camping areas due to the extreme fire danger. This will only get worse as the summer marches forward. Most of the West is in a prolonged drought. This is not dire predictions it's the fact. We as RV are going to be forced to adjust to it.

Would be nice if our common northern border where as open as our southern.

You really should not post something you expect to be deleted. It just taxes the moderators who would rather be doing fun stuff. [emoji6]

I said 'halfway'. Should I check with you in the future before posting?

Edit, After reading this over it seems a bit sarcastic. I didn't intent that. Sometimes it think I don't knew hoe to be a bit humorous.

It was a great comment…
It is a odd double standard to say the least, but I suppose that too is the new norm.

It is odd to say the least. If I got a group of my redneck hands together and headed to Sumas and told the Canadian Border folks " We are coming in" . Wonder how long it would be before I saw Texas again, if I survived.

It is ALL a big scam. I live in Toronto yet here I am, in Toledo Ohio with my wife. HOW? simple, money talks. For Canadian citizens, ALL you have to do is pay through the nose. $200 EACH for virus test and you HAVE to fly into the USA. Then I get here and everything is wide open. To return to Canada, AS OF TODAY 23 June, I need a negative test , another $140 US per person, a flight ticket, then ANOTHER TEST when I land in Toronto, THEN 3 DAYS in a sanctioned quarantine hotel, $1000 or more PER PERSON, awaiting what better be a negative test result from the Canadian administered test upon arrival, THEN after 8 days ANOTHER test THEN, the duration of 14 days HOME quarantine. During this time, you are routinely and randomly contacted by the virus gestapo and you BETTER be at home in quarantine or severe fines. Vaccinations do NOT impact this regime at ALL.
THEN as if a magic wand is deployed as of July 5th. It all changes and IF you have two approved vaccines, and proof there of, you get to skip the mandatory hotel quarantine BUT still have the test upon arrival and need to stay at home until you receive a negative result. SO IF you can afford it, you can travel

Well, I certainly understand why you would want to escape Texas for a better life in Canada.

I'm sure you could apply for asylum in Canada and have it seriously considered. Just point out that basic services like electricity aren't reliably available in Texas.
