Build SHeets

I keep reading about Build Sheets. Is this a standard form that helps folks go through the whole decision process on how to customize the trailer? Is there a sample that someone can post?
Trying to learn, but slowly. Very slowly!

Escape will send you a build sheet after deposit. It lists all the standard options you can choose. Escape will consider some unlisted options, which you can learn reading here, or something in particular to suit your needs.

Randy, Once you place your order, your sales rep. at ETI will Email you a standard Build Sheet. You will then go through the Build Sheet, line by line to keep each item STANDARD or OPTIONAL. Your sales rep. will walk you through the process and update your Build Sheet each time a decision is made. Your Build Sheet does not become FINAL until you reach a pre-determined date, about 8-10 weeks prior to Build completion. After that date has passed, any changes, if possible will incur an additional fee.

The "option list" on ETI's webpage is part of the build sheet.
Once the order is placed on a Escape trailer, ETI sends you your personal build sheet, specifically for your trailer. On this build sheet you fill out what you want or don't want added to your trailer. ETI will help and answer any question you have during this process. Even willing to customize beyond standard build sheet in some cases.
ETI is one of few that gives the customer this many choices in building their trailers.

The build sheet is one of the great things ETI does. On it, all of your yes and no choices for options are documented, along with each item costs. The building sheet also indicates formica color, custom fabric info., trailer exterior graphics color, and lots of detail notes and information, that is used by ETI employees during the manufacturing process.
We added, subtracted, and changed things on our build sheet a lot. (ETI was very patient and helpful with us). We have 8 different build sheets that ETI e-mailed to us, between the time we ordered, and when we sent in the final, signed build sheet 6 months later. It's the documentation of your custom trailer work in progress.

P.S. If an option or choice is not on your final signed build sheet, that item just might not happen the way you expect.

You can keep your own build sheet from the beginning, maybe a paper copy, and add and subtract to your original all along. When you get to the final build sheet, then you can compare from your own list before signing.

Items have been known to disappear when changes were made. Make certain that you have every item you want on the final. You might want to go through their website features and options at the same time to double-check your list.

I might also add to be sure and date or number your build sheet. In my process, I had so many build sheets that while I was shuffling back and forth and looking at my chosen options, that I'd get confused as to which one was the most current build sheet.

You can start as soon as you get the first one then slowly narrow down your choices I circled the ones I was unsure of then did more research until the end when I finally finished my build sheet. Don't wait till the end ...it's a fun process. The waiting planning is half the fun

For those of you with an Adobe account, I found it very easy to convert the PDF to a Word document, and edit it as I went along. Once it was "final", I just saved it as a PDF.

We used a spreadsheet to keep making changes until we felt we got it the way we wanted. Its an updated version that someone else posted here. In the sheet, simply putting in "Y" or "N" shows you cost or savings, and for multiple amount items, you add the quantity.

I like spreadsheets too, and was going to build one to begin the process of selecting our options. With this attachment we can go right to work on our 19 build sheet due October 10th. Thanks for sharing!

No problem - just double check the prices in the spreadsheet. A couple of them went up while we were still choosing.

This is really helpful! I just opened your spreadsheet in LibreOffice and went through our Escape 21 build sheet, made any changes and there we are--a way to see how our decisions affect the final price. Thank you for sharing this.
