Colder weather camping

can an Escape 19 with extra underneath insulation and tank heater pads camp in below freezing weather with water in the tanks and system? Does the trailer hold up to cold weather salt on the roads ? (Twin Cities MN)

I’m not an expert, buts it’s a matter of degree (no pun intended) how low below freezing and for how long? If it’s slightly below freezing overnight but gets above zero during the day, shouldn’t be a problem.. if it’s very cold for a long stretch, probably not good and would needs a re-think

Simple answer yes. You do not need the 12v pads though as the foam and heat inside will keep the lines and tanks from freezing down to the teens. We routinely camp in cold weather and have not had any issues, We have camped down to single digits but winterized the tanks.

The steel frame on the Escape will be susceptible to corrosion, and salt on winter roads will definitely speed up that corrosion.
