Considering a change from a Casita to a Escape 19

We did not plan on switching until we saw the 21. We liked no crawl over bed, the larger window area, the extra space in the aisle, the larger bath, more counter space and the newer trailer gave us much better lighting and the 15" tires. The extra length was easy to handle and two more inches on each side only made me buy the small clip on mirrors that I should have had on the 19 to see behind the trailer. The extra weight and width caused my mileage in the Jeep to drop from 15/16 to 13/14 when towing at speed. I hope ETI doesn't come out with a 23!

Casitas are great trailers and we enjoyed the heck out of the 2 we owned. I credit them with helping us find our fiberglass niche and the many friends we've made.

Escape wasn't an option at the time. After 7 years tho of "cramping" in the Casita, it was time to get a new one. We stumbled on a 17B and were hooked (wish I could remember the owner's name!). The order went out for a 19 a couple days later. The second axle and a little more room over the 17, which is why we were looking for a replacement in the first place, made the difference. The 21 wasn't available but I'm happy (as in VERY!) with our choice.

Regrets? Nope!

These are pretty much all of the same reasons we switched to a 21 from a 19 . We pick up our 21 a week today .

Yes, if they come out with a 23', oh please. I have to keep Norm and Ginny with their smaller Casita in mind over at fiberglassrv, near full-timing. Unfortunately, having a 19', we already have a bunch of features not found on 16's or 17's that we don't necessarily want to give up. People are used to what they are used to, that they now "have to have." Then there are all of the other improvements. It becomes very tempting to go along with whatever ETI does that comes down the line.

Safe travels Dave! The weather is going to be crappy the end of this week. That dang polar stuff is headed to the Pacific NorthWET. If we're dry, everything should be okay, even if cold. But moisture... we don't have snow plows!

Norm and Ginny have a Scamp 16', but that is very similar to a Casita 16' - the Casita is a clone of the Scamp, which is based on the Scamp 13', which is a clone of a Boler 13'... Anyway, it is between Escape 15' and Escape 17' size.

There are people who full-time in 13-foot trailers. I admire the discipline they must have.

Sorry, Scamp. I am always thinking Casita for some reason. I know theirs is smaller than ours and I cannot keep all of the 16's and 17's straight except for the Escape 17. I never looked into those others that much. I was first looking at Casitas but soon was on to Escapes.

Yes, those 13ers manage somehow. It is about expectations --- and some about what hubby wants.

Like the 21 for more interior space, particularly in the kitchen, but no cot option available. Went with the 19 to get 3 different bed/sleeping areas by adding the cot. (also, I'm not 100% sure I could get the 21' into our backyard).

Thanks for all the comments about our thinking of changing from a 17 foot Casita to a 19 foot Escape. Your varied views and comments have given us a lot to think about. We appreciate all the comments
