David,

You've been a wonderful part of this "virtual" community, (a community of very real people), so much so that I'm sure the same is true of you in "real life".

My best wishes go out to you.

After I was diagnosed, at an Urgent Care of all places. I felt absolutely disconnected from reality. About a week later while sitting on the patio a strange breeze blew past and something told me to breathe in. I did and from that point forward I look at the world through this new pair of glasses that I wished I'd have found years ago.

I'm amazed everyday at the little things I somehow passed by all these years.

I wish you the best on your new adventure and I hope this strange breeze heads your way.

My stepfather passed away from pancreatic cancer a few years ago. He had a few tough days between his initial diagnosis and his passing, but he also had many good days with his friends and family, including getting out in the RV, which he loved doing. I pray that your good days greatly outnumber the tough days David.

Oh, crap. You are sending a message here perhaps: don't wait and trust your instincts to do things now. Hoping they have better means to extend and maintain your life quality for a good while.

So sorry to hear this. What a brave and thoughtful post for all of us to consider.
You have been a calm, steady, interesting, and helpful presence on this forum. We all have benefited from your insights and advice, and you have replied to two of my specific questions on here with advice that helped me figure out and repair my problem.
You and your wife are in our thoughts and prayers, and we know that miracles can and do happen.

Oh, David, I'm so sorry that you & Mary have to fight this battle. It's pretty clear that you're a fan fave here on the forum, even with those of us who have never met you. I too will keep you in my prayers.

New here in the fall, and no Escape yet, but look forward to getting one and enjoying the pleasure of your company in years to come. Remember Steve Jobs—he survived with pancreatic cancer for years, as will you.
