[QUOTE=Centex;419162]Honestly, the not infrequent instances of folks 'advocating / challenging' that particular personal choices are 'better / worse', 'smarter / dumber', 'foolish / wise' etc. on this forum are truly baffling to me. One 'size' does not fit all, YMMV, thank goodness we're not all clones of each other, the world would be an unendingly dull place if we were.[QUOTE]

Wise words here. I followed this thread on the stove hood and, like so many other hot-button issues like the bathroom sink or the power cord or the awning, I felt some discomfort with the "pros" implying that there is one and only one choice to make. There is nothing magical about a hood fan. I do not have a stove hood, do not miss it, use the Maxx fan (less than a foot away) with a window cracked, and do not have grease dripping down my walls or caked on the ceiling or gunked up in the fan itself (which is easier to clean than a hood). It all depends on how one cooks and moves the air around in the trailer. I'm very happy with my choice.

So, Karen, does that make you pro or anti?

Ha, ha...I'm neither. In a different situation, I might choose to install a stove fan. But my trailer, my choice!

I deleted the br sink from my build & removed the range hood. Put a nice double led light in with dimmer. I have a suction cup holder for all the bathing necessities. I know in the past if the range hood was deleted, Escape instead put in an extra led light. I’m happy with my choices.

I wasn't mocking anyone. Please explain to me those that say "don't have it, don't miss it." How can you possibly miss something you've never had?

I've never owned a black vehicle, nor have I ever owned a stick-built RV, but I've done enough research and been in and around them enough to know and state assuredly that I don't miss those experiences. Most folks' life is full of similar well-founded and reasonable personal determinations.

YMMV, no worries!

I don’t think you were intending to be nasty at all, someone before you was and you got got caught up in it. Nowadays mocking is the mainstay of comics and others on television, I’m so thankful for streaming.
I deal a bit with plumbing issues in houses, after looking at the shower design coming off the bathroom sink I deleted the sink from my build. I was intending on doing the shower alone Escape offers but after seeing the centex plan, which in my opinion is a major upgrade in materials, with his help and Linda knowing his build plans I went that way.

Thanks and I wasn't. You can never miss what you've never had is a simple proverb which means simply: If you've never had a particular item or experience, then you will not long for it.

Whether I'm anti or pro isn't an issue for me anymore. Every time that I see this thread resurface I just shake my head.

I have a vent in a 2017 17B. Haven’t used it yet. A 19 isn’t that much bigger. MAXX fan, windows, and screen door are more than adequate.

I removed the range hood on my 2019 19' for several reasons...
a. The max fan is only a couple of feet from the stove
b. I mostly cook outside anyway
c. It's ugly and head bump magnet

I put a sign over the inside of the vent opening and installed a second light where the range hood power came through. Now the galley area seems more open, and bright.
