drivers training--Olympic Peninsula

Hi All,
I've read several good threads about drivers training, and would like to take some. Does anyone have recommendations about where to take lessons--on the northeastern part of the Olympic Peninsula (i.e. Port Angeles, Sequim, Poulsbo, Bremerton areas)? Thanks very much.

This thread from Laura (NW Cat Owner) is probably just what you're looking for. Sometime soon, we plan to book training through the same outfit from one of their locations here in NM.

Thanks for finding that thread! Saves me some time.

Yeah, I highly recommend these folks. Not that I have any experience with any others.

Another Escape owner recently handed over wads of money to them. The wife is an experience trailer puller, but not hubby - he took the lessons and it was very worthwhile for him. Same instructor that I had.

So, yeah, contact them - you won't be disappointed that you did.

I might add, that (knock on wood!) I've nailed the backing up down our driveway (mentioned in the original thread). I would not have had the confidence to do it without those lessons.

drivers training--Olympic Peninsula

Linda,

To me, the essential thing is to book through the RV Driving School. Laura did it on my recommendation. I recommended them because I was trained by them in California.

As I understand it, their instructors are mostly retired commercial drivers (like 18 wheeler drivers) who they trained in their method. These instructors are contractors rather than employees. IMO it shouldn't matter which of their trainers you use.

You can go onto their website and see where their trainers are and when (some are full timers and move around). Just pick the one most convenient to you. I chose one in Palmdale CA because he was on my way home after picking up my Bigfoot. It was well worth the cost. Two can get trained at the same time for a small additional charge.

I told my son if he takes the RV Driver Training then he can borrow my truck and trailer. If he decides to do it, I'll suggest that my wife do it at the same time and split the charge down the middle.

Thanks Rich. That's reassuring. I'm definitely going to take the lessons.
