I thought this was amusing and would compliment this off topic discussion. A picture of the Canadian beer cooler taken at the Olympic village in Russia.

I saw that too! Awesome use of a Canadian passport--scan it and you get beer!

It would be great to have one of those at the office.

But if all I need is my passport to access it, I would not complain. The only time I drink that beer is at a football game, as the only other alternative is Coors Light. :

I've been known to decline when that's all a restaurant has. Thanks, I'll just have water.

I had to endure a whole week at an all-inclusive Mexican resort where the house beer was Sol and there were no alternatives, even if you were willing to pay. Went into town and had a couple Dos Equis and I was in heaven.
From then on I always determine the house beer before committing.
I go to the Dominican Republic for Presidente beer.

Molson Canadian has as much flavour as Dos Equis, though it is miles better than Sol or Corona. I mostly drink Negra Modelo when in Mexico. Quite acceptable.

Mary has a t-shirt from New Glarus Brewery that says "Real Women Don't Drink Light Beer" Mine had Donna's quote on it.

What about Heineken? 40 odd years ago I visited the brewery in Holland with two Danes and an American and we swore to only drink Heineken then and forever. Now I drink wine, but when I do order a beer I feel really funny drinking anything else.

Ruthe - I had them in Holland and they taste good there, but then they put it in those green bottles to ship over here and they get skunky. Green bottles are the bane of good beer. I think you can get it in cans now though.

There is so many small breweries in the US now, there's never a need (or want) to drink "commerical" beer. I think Beer Exchanges have become a common "opener event" at many egg gatherings.
It started at the Oregon Gathering when there was a wine tasting as a group event on a Friday night. I don't drink wine, I'm not a snob... just don't care for it. But LUV good beer. So.. I said... we beer drinkers can't be "bested" by winos... let's do a beer exchange. Exchange one craft beer bottle/can for another from a participant... and the rest is HISTORY.
Fun times, happening at many egg gatherings... and it's typically over in 2 minutes. Almost as frantic as going to a warehouse white sale where everyone is grabbing STUFF. HAHAHHAHAHAHA.

Donna - you sound like a great candidate to learn to homebrew. It sure makes one popular with friends! LOL

I can't seem to post a picture of my storm supplies! Which consist of 2 six packs of Widmer's seasonal ale aptly named Brrrr. No cheap, crappy, light beer in my house!

Probably, but I can't afford one more HOBBY. Besides, I'd most likely end up drinking my hobby and wouldn't leave anything for friends! Good times! We have even had a craft rootbeer exchange at the Oregon Gathering for those that didn't drink beer. That also went over well. There are tons of brewers that also brew root beer. Who would ever think?!?!?!?

I didn't understand the concept of a 'beer exchange' my first time. I brought a selection of craft brews and thought that we would socialize and drink the beer. I wasn't expecting this frenzied rush to grab all the good stuff and scurry off into the corner with your prize.
So, since the first exchange, I've just brought my six beers, and six more in a cooler for myself, and shot pictures of the mob scene.
