Escape construction

I had a question on how vulnerable the escape floor is to rot. I am assuming it’s a plywood floor. If undetected water seeps through window seams, vent or a/c seams, marker lights… It runs down the interior inside shell and leads to the wood floor right? Even though the floor has drain holes, moisture will still be trapped in the encapsulated fiberglass wood? Won’t this cause floor rot? Like the casita construction the wood is encapsulated in a fiberglass shell but interior shell water leads right down to the floor? Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't be a problem. I have a 1978 Trillium trailer made the same way and at 31 years old the floor is showing no signs of weekness.

Hi: gocamp... I have every confidence in the Escape style of construction. No rivets fewer chances of leaks!!! I had a fellow view our trailer in a Wendys parking lot and he knows fiberglass boats in& out and looked from bottom to top and said " If you back this rig down a boat ramp it will float".

Hi Go Camp,

We have two areas that run down each side of the trailer in the fiberglass shell below the wood floor, kind of like pontoons. These low points in the shell allow the water to pool and drain through drain holes in the shell. This means that the exterior grade plywood that we use in the floor does not sit in any water collecting from condensation or taps left over the counter with water running... :

I wonder who is going to be the first to try this? I know who isn't...at least not intentionally.

Thanks Tammy, I am sure that issue was making some people wonder, even though no one has indicated there was ever a problem.
