Escape Purchase Poll

The most recent topic "Escape Purchase Issues" has caused me to think that a poll might be informative.

On a personal level we just picked up our 21 in May. We've hardly camped in it at all except at the NK'MIP Campground and some Flying J truck stops on the way back to Lancaster. Our next trip will be in mid-September when we will attend the Niagara Falls Rally in Ontario. We will also camp for a few days near Lake Cazenovia in NYS. I think it’s still a crap shoot whether or not we’ll actually use the trailer as we had originally intended. If we don’t then we’ll probably sell it. That said we love our trailer. Even if something broke in it I'd love it. I'm pretty handy when it comes to fixing things. The trailer is sort of taking on a 'life of its own' if you get my drift.

Looking back I see that I joined this forum in December, 2013. I became a dedicated lurker on a number of molded fiberglass forums. I harvested information about the care and feeding of fiberglass trailers, customer support, fit and finish, layouts, etc. etc. I was in no big rush since we didn’t have the dough anyway. Until we did have the dough: Then we decided that we wanted to go with an Escape. We placed our order for an Escape 21 in November, 2018.

Sample size is important when it comes to any study. We’ll let this one roll out until the end of the month. If only 20 people respond it won’t mean much. If 50 people respond we might be able to make a few generalizations about this list's attitudes toward purchasing an Escape trailer.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Too much missing in the questions and the answers. I don't think the results will be of any use, or that any prospective buyer will ever see the poll.
I may have participated in one poll since Oct. 2008,

We're picking up our 3rd Escape in September. In all 3 cases, we thoroughly reviewed the options on the market. In all 3 cases, Escape was the best fit for our requirements. Of course, when deciding on Escape #2 and #3, we had the benefit of direct experience with the Escape quality, customization, and customer service. Those factors weighed heavily.

My conclusion from what you wrote:
1. Poll is inadequate thus useless.
2. You don't waste your time participating in polls.

Appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, no right answer for me either. To many negative answers as well.

No poll really needed anyway, while there are a few that mostly post negatively, the vast majority is quite happy with their trailers especially amongst those I have met that are not even on here.

Based on what I have read and learned , if you want an accurate poll then you do not report the results of the poll until the poll is completed .
Secondly the way the questions are stated also have an affect both positive and negative on poll results . You can steer a poll in a desired direction by the way you phrase the questions

None of the guestions in this poll accurately express my opinion of Escape or their products
The poll has no middle ground between Love it & Hate it !

I didn't know that a poll is not needed. My mistake.
Sorry to hear that there is no right answer for you.

I have not "read and learned" a lot about polls like you. Well in any event it has been 40 years since I took 3 graduate level courses in research methodology re: my chosen field. I was not attempting to "steer" this poll in any particular direction by tricky phrasing of questions. I can be sneaky and devious but not in this case.

Clearly this poll will not work for you. It may not work for anyone. Actually I don't care one way or another. As long as I don't get thrown off this list for creating a poll everything will be cool. Thanks for the feedback.

So the outcome of this poll has already been determined ?
Somehow I sense that we are now in cheerleader mode
No sense in me voting , the die has been cast and God has spoken
Go for it Glenn

“No poll really needed anyway “ Your words not mine
“The vast majority is quite happy”. Your words not mine
“ A few that mostly post negative “ Your words not mine

I read your words exactly as written !!
The poll is useless because you already know / determined the outcome
I wish I was that clairvoyant !!

Might have been easier or clearer with less options. Maybe something like “If you had to do it again would you still buy an Escape?” Or “Do you regret buying your Escape instead of SOB”. Simple yes or no answers might give a good indication of satisfaction.

Maybe we just need to vote rather than discuss our various reasons within 50 feet of the polling place...

Here's my reaction to those poll questions:
  • If you had to do it all over again would you buy an Escape? (yes) or ?-=no? Assuming I don’t check “yes” means I mean “no”?
  • I’d look at other brands first then decide. Who doesn’t do that?
  • Never again: traveling by RV camping is not for me. So what does that have to do with the brand of trailer you (foolishly?) bought in the first place?
  • Never again I wasn’t happy with my Escape…etc. Ah, that must answer my first question.

Just my take on it...nothing personal. To paraphrase Groucho, "I wouldn't take any poll that would have me."

Why get upset? No one is required to even take the poll. Sheesh. Don't like how people are voting? That is more about the persons getting upset than those that voted their OPINION. Laudy....

Appreciate that. My friend Jack once told me, "You don't know Jack."
