Make an easy crossing from Lubec Maine (eastern most town) to Canada's Campobello Island where FDR had his summer home, and enjoy a beautiful island. They have a provincial park on the island too.

A nice little private campground just minutes from Acadia entrance, Bar Harbor campground. They don't take reservations, you get to pick from what ever is available. Been there 3 times now always got a spot😎

Did someone pick up a new Escape 19 with pretty blue graphics this morning?
We were headed to Sumas and spotted you just south of the border....

If you are stopping in Lubec, I highly recommend Sunset Point campground. It's small and on the water and the folks are the best. When I left, I was coming back through there after Nova Scotia and PEI to stay again, and they let me leave my pepper spray and excess wine, to be picked up a couple weeks later. Big plus, a heavenly chocolate shop in a private home a block away. There may have been a coupon. Beware, there's another Sunset Point campground east of there quite a bit.

Also highly recommend Campobello. It's lovely--I did a nature walk with a ranger, and attended "Tea with Eleanor", actual tea and cookies and a talk about ER. I bought the Canadian National Parks pass because it was good for discount at campgrounds and a lot of national monuments, etc. It paid for itself and then some.

😎We stayed at the other Sunset point in Harrington. About 50 minutes from Lubec, it's a nice little family campground on tidal water. The owner will cook you a fresh lobster and deliver it to your camper for a fraction of the cost in a restaurant, including tools necessary for the deconstruction of the exoskeleton . 👍👍

I stayed there, too, having made a reservation but not realizing the similar name. It was a nice spot. I can't make a correction in my previous post, but the other (not Lubec) is a bit WEST of the one in lubec. The Lubec one is billed as the easternmost campground in the USA.

BTW, those near Bar Harbor, the downtown grocery will cook a whole lobster for you while you wait, no extra charge. Last summer it was 6.99 (us) per lb.

Getting a lot of great ideas for this trip! We are staying at Blackwoods campground for a couple of days, the rest of the trip we are just gonna wing it!

Made the same passage July 23rd in our new 5.0TA & camped @ last chance campground about two miles up Goose ceek. Great little spot with hiking, biking & huckleberry picking right from camp.

I was in Acadia in June and it is a big place. We were on a road trip so I was trying to maximize the 2 days I had there. If you are looking for a great travel guide I highly recommend Acadia: The Complete Guide by Jame Kaiser. Full of great information and photos. Who was that??

August 5, 2019 we were looking for some flint nodules 10 or 15 miles west of Denio on Hwy 140, just at the turn off to Via. Looked up and low and behold there was an Escape 5.0 (or 5.0TA) flying by going east. Must have been a little after 10AM.

Thanks.

On the way home (Vancouver, B.C.) from Yosemite we stopped at a rest area just south of Eugene, Oregon on the I-5 and pulled right in behind another 17b. We met the owners - a nice family from eastern Washington. It turns out they had just purchased the trailer from original owners and were heading home. Hope they will be as happy as we are with their new trailer. It is great to run into other Escape owners on the road and have the opportunity to have a quick chat. Seems every campsite that we have been to so far, our trailer tends to draw some attention and compliments. Proud to be an owner!

We have the 19 that Chotch reported seeing in Blackwoods Campground, Acadia National Park (post #1301). They stopped and talked with us for a while and invited us to visit them in Acadia's Schoodic Woods Campground, which we did. Being located on the east coast, their 5.0TA is is the only other Escape we've seen since picking ours up at the factory last July, and the only other one that we've been in.

Given that we are new to trailer camping (and all that goes with it), it was very helpful to hear about how they use theirs (setting up, cooking, maintenance, etc.), where they've camped, and the different mods they've done to make it theirs. We appreciate the time they took with us and the knowledge they shared. Thanks again.

We had 6 nights in Blackwoods, though that did not give us near enough time to see and do all their is to do in Acadia and the many small harbor towns around the park. Blackwoods sites do not have water or electricity and most are fairly well shaded. The one solar panel kept the batteries at 90% so we had all the electricity we needed and we supplemented our on-board water supply with with a 6-gallon jug and water from the spigot at the washroom.

All-in-all a wonderful trip.

We saw two Escapes today.

An E21 pulled by a white Tacoma near I5 and WA 20 this morning.

Then and E19 pulled by a dark (Chevy truck?) in Leavenworth, WA.

Saw a brand new Escape 17b at Rasar State Park fresh from the factory on the 9th through 11th of September. I did say hello but didn't get their names (they were out most of the 10th and then left early the 11th). Then another 17 going north on 20 near Deception pass yesterday (I was headed south.)
